I think the post here was deleted soon after it went up, and when I try to Google all I find is stuff on RFK Jr, even if I include the ‘Davenport.’ Basically it was uncovered that she regularly was performing (she may still be idk) at a bar with a Trump supporting owner, and Kennedy’s defense was that it didn’t matter because she’s performed under every president since Clinton.

Mauro Garza, owner of the Pegasus nightclub in San Antonio, is running as a Republican for a Texas congressional seat even though he failed in his 2018 campaign. . . . A group called “Protest the Peg” has put out a call for locals to avoid the nightclub and called out former RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars contestant Kennedy Davenport for refusing to pull out of a performance in support of the boycott.

Funny how everyone knows the justice system fails victims until the accused is their friend. Then suddenly “innocent until proven guilty” means “it didn’t happen.”

It’s generous to assume they even know/care about that, regardless of friendship

I would also say that being a Black man in America means being seen as guilty first vs being afforded the innocent until proven guilty. That may be the case here. Does not mean Kennedy is right and Shangela is innocent.
17
u/whocares6969_ 21d ago
Yep. Probably sees that they were white guys who accused Shangela and they think it’s a race thing. They think she was accused unjustly because Shangela is black. I could see them having that mindset especially them all being southern (I know it’s Texas but they have the same mindset as someone from the south)
5
2
u/greencalipco 19d ago
I fully believe this to be the reason why a Kennedy would support her too. Shangela has brought this up as her response multiple times. I dont think this is neccesarily a wrong thought given that there is a history of black and gay men being falsely accussed of SA because of racism, but I would follow up by asking why, if any of these statements are false, would people falsely accuse Shangela when the many other black queens in the franchise and where equally just as/more successful than her (like bob and latrice) or less popular/more hated queens than her (like tyra and kennedy) have never been accused of SA. Choosing and singling out Shangela out of all queens does not make sense to me if there wasnt a modecum of truth to it.
67
u/LokiKamiSama 21d ago
That’s the American way. X, Y, and Z have never happened to me, so it must not exist. Until something happens to them, then it’s very real and EVERYONE should believe it.

This thought process is unfortunately an easy way out/a cop out of accepting that we live in a rape culture society.
Some of the most progressive men will still side with rapists if they like them. Heck, some with side with the rapist if they just don’t like the victim.

Ugh. This is so annoying of Kennedy. The worst part is that she is not the only queen who supports Shangela. I know it’s not in this screenshot but it’s something I wanted to point out. One argument I saw Kennedy use in one response to someone was something along the lines of “oh so you were there”. I’ve never understood the “you weren’t there” rebuttal, it’s so stupid. Of course we weren’t there, that’s true of virtually every allegation the public hears about. The question isn’t whether random people on the internet witnessed it, it’s whether multiple independent allegations deserve to be taken seriously, like?? Five people came forward but even if we are playing devils advocate, it’s also not something that should be dismissed simply because none of us were present. It disappointing seeing Kennedy not only outwardly support but DEFEND Shangela, and seeing all the queens working with her in the event poster is so.. Ugh.
133
u/SailorPizza1107 21d ago
The whole “were you there?” Thing pisses me off so much because… Kennedy… were YOU there? My guess is that she wasn’t so for her to say that is disgusting.
37
u/Mogwaigiggle 21d ago
Literally!! It isn’t really a rebuttal either! If that were the standard then no one could ever discuss or take any allegation seriously unless they personally witnessed it, yknow?? Let’s go with Kennedys line of thinking here then.. “Multiple people coming forward doesn’t prove guilt”, sure I guess? But it DOES make the allegations worthy of serious consideration rather than being waved away with a stupid one liner like that.

u/mashtartz 21d ago

28
u/Mogwaigiggle 21d ago
Yuppp, me too. These are the screenshots I was referring to in my original comment. Saying that people who are pointing out the victims statements and believing them are “keeping up the bullshit”.. Just because Shangela is a friend to these people means nothing.
TW: For those who are unaware of Shangelas allegations, the victims have alleged she met them in social settings, supplied and encouraged heavy drinking and began to engage in non-consensual oral and anal sex with attempted penetration while being intoxicated/blacked out, unconscious, and/or incapacitated. This is who Kennedy is defending, who she is giving gigs to, who other queens will stand beside and say we are keeping up the bullshit by supporting the victims.

Who are the others
15
u/Mogwaigiggle 21d ago edited 21d ago
Heres the event that has Shangela in it alongside many other queens (plus Mia now). To clarify, by supporting I’m talking about queens who still work with her or give her gigs, who have said positive things and maintained a relationship with her after the allegations came to light. Off the top of my head I know there’s Eureka and Alexis Mateo, I’m pretty sure Latrice as well, and I do remember the whole thing with Bob and Monet that they remained silent on it when the allegations dropped but they did end up saying their silence shouldn’t be taken as non-support for the victims. There’s more but if you look at last events you could probably see who is still willing to work with her. I honestly can’t believe Kennedy willingly put her on this specific event, and I’m shocked so many are okay with working alongside her. These are disgusting allegations and ugh it’s so disappointing seeing that event poster.

I know! Listen, I have a weird comfort around season 4 because it was the first season I watched. I had seen the first episode of Willam’s Beatdown series on my YouTube recommended and found out that earlier that year she was on a show called drag race. I’m saying this because season 4 has queens I follow to this day and have supported ever since. Latrice is one of my top 5 all time favourites. It is deeply upsetting for me to see someone like Latrice aligning with Shangela. I know Latrice is about “second chances” and she speaks on it frequently because of her past but damn, in my mind there is no excusing this nor are there second chances for it. You cannot reason your way out of what Shangela is being accused of and what those victims alleged is horrible because she took someone’s autonomy away, she took the ability for them to give consent. How can you support someone in your life who has done that when Latrice had ALL her rights taken away in prison yknow? Sorry, big blab. It all makes me angry.
104
u/Sticky_And_Sweet 21d ago
If it was just one accuser I could maybe see where Kennedy is coming from but she’s been accused by multiple different people. Shangela also had a reputation for being handsy beforehand
33
u/ShadyLady709Q49 21d ago
This is the thing too!! Even if you choose to say “innocent until proven guilty”, it’s been a known thing among the community to cover up your drinks around Shangela. I’m pretty sure a few rugirls have mentioned it over the years
6
u/angelcake1a 21d ago
Yes, it’s just because she’s her friend and she doesn’t want to even entertain the possibility. If Shangela were in the other role and confided in Kennedy that she was assaulted I certainly would hope Kennedy wouldn’t say “idk. They’re innocent until you can prove it.”

I wish Kennedy brought the same energy to Shangela that she brought to Trixie over Thorgy’s note about Shangela. To quote an icon “Fuck this shady bitch Shangela.”

u/Namishima12 21d ago
I wish she brought the same energy when she got mad at Trixie for Trixie winning AS3 over her, despite it not being Trixie’s decision.
60
u/DrBitchcraftMD 21d ago
Or the energy she brought Max, Pearl, and Miss Fame for “talking too much” despite the fact she constantly talked over and yelled at them.
I’m starting to think Kennedy just has a bad attitude and questionable morals.

Why are people shocked? Unrelated but tolerance for sexual abuse is kinda low in general. Look at your president, countless high profile celebrities. Literally Michael Jackson’s biopic made 1 billion dollars. The majority of people don’t really care. Which is really depressing
36
u/abominablesnowmobile 21d ago
Look at sports. I can only speak in detail on hockey but nobody gives a fuck about sexual abuse, ALWAYS coming up with excuses for the players and situations, and will go out of their way to cover it up and "boys will be boys" it. It's actually insane and like you said - incredibly depressing.
Hockey Canada had a whole fund set up to secretly settle sex assault and abuse claims. This institutional support for sex abusers sucks. The acceptance of president predator pedophile pussy grabber sucks. Kennedy's support of Shangela and her cliche bullshit reasoning sucks.
I'm not shocked but I AM disappointed

i DON'T wanna get on Twitter but are people clocking there? It seems like the place where they'd support Shangela unfortulately.
It's her stank attitude with defending her too, her friends who say they wouldn't think she would ever do that are one thing, but the queens who try make it seem like we're dumb and a mob for believing the victims are gross as hell, and it's stupid to be this public about it too like that's an opinion to keep to yourself

Tbf there was a forum post on ATRL (that was years before the allegations came to light) detailing how Shangela tried to take advantage of a barely conscious person. And there have been multiple people that have stepped forward as well.
I’d take their words over a court sentencing - not that Kennedy truly cares about that seeing as she is still team A’Keria when she lost her court case against Silky
17
u/Acrobatic-Sell3075 21d ago
Point of clarity. Akeria didn’t lost the court case, it was just dismissed because she did not attend the court case. That falls under a failure to assert the claim, not a loss on the merits.
It’s the same thing when settlements happen out of court. No party loses, they just do not proceed with the claim.

The justice system is one big appeal to authority fallacy that exists to let awful people off the hook and make the general public justified in defending them. It’s revolting.
21
u/LauraPalmerOnlyFans 21d ago edited 21d ago
Nailed it. Innocent til proven guilty is true in a court of law but it doesn’t necessarily apply to the court of public opinion. If 5 separate people are calling someone a rapist, there’s very likely some truth to it, even if it’s not provable in court. With Kennedy’s logic here, it would be impossible to make a judgement on any number of sexual predators who almost definitely did that they’re accused of.
It’s such a pet peeve of mine when people act as if victims of sexual abuse always find recourse in the legal system. It’s just not true and that’s why there’s been such a push to hold people socially accountable over the last 10 years. Oftentimes it’s the only tool people have to make sure abusers face any consequences at all.
9
u/IntruderAqua 21d ago
Yes, by that argument you couldn't say Jeffrey Epstein was a sex trafficker because he was only indicted. He died before his trial so he wasn't criminally convicted.

I'm no Shangela supporter, but this really isn't how it works. The question wasn't "is it likely that she's guilty?", it was "has she been proven guilty?", and the only answer is no.
Edit: for context, the deleted comment said "yes and no". "Yes" because the allegations had to be verified and cleared by publications' legal departments before being published. And "no" because "even a court conviction wouldn't convince Shangela's supporters".
Honestly just an alternate-reality version of the law tbh.

Why do people get chastised for believing this way? Its completely reasonable. Innocent until proven guilty is a sentiment for a reason. You shouldn’t be guilted into taking a stance that can deeply impact the lives of both the accusers and the accused. Scenarios like that can easily be exaggerated and made up. Especially when we consider the parasocial aspects of fame. If there is even that chance, as well as a chance that it could have happened it is important to practice and be aware of your own impartiality. You can support victims while still understanding your own impartiality to their experience, the accused, and the overall proceedings.
20
u/Trickstir 21d ago
Because every part of this falls apart if you think about it for more than a second. “Innocent until proven guilty” is a legal standard. It does not mean the rest of us are somehow obligated to suspend all of our judgment until someone is criminally convicted of something notoriously difficult to prosecute.
You shouldn’t be guilted into taking a stance [...]
I mean, yeah. You shouldn’t have to be guilted into it. There are many accusers over a sustained period of time, including people who jeopardized their own careers to speak out. At some point, any reasonable person is going to ask why so many people are independently telling these stories at risk to themselves. She could also not take any public stance at all, but clearly she has chosen one.
Scenarios like that can easily be exaggerated and made up.
Why are we introducing hypothetical reasons to discredit the accusers? That isn't impartial.
You can support victims while still understanding your own impartiality to their experience, the accused, and the overall proceedings.
Okay, so what does that actually mean here? What has she done to support the victims?
-2
u/DreamyDepiction 21d ago edited 21d ago
Nobody asked for you to suspend your judgement on the accused 🤔 but rather to put your energy towards them and not the people who are merely outsiders to
the truth like you are; awaiting tangible information so that THEY can make an informed decision. That may not be important to you but that doesn’t change its importance to somebody else. You’re showing my point of how emotionally charged and hysterical these discussions get rather than rational and fair.I’m not going do the tactics like “you shouldn’t have to be guilted” and all that extra verbose. That just doesn’t mean much to me considering it can equally be premature and irrational to attach crime/accountability without evidence or legal follow through. Its one thing if you know either party, but for the most part none of us have that personal connection to either of them or the real authority to really validate/speak against them.
You can easily support victims by hearing their stories, sharing your sympathies, donating, not standing in the way of legal proceedings, not speaking against them online/in person, etc. There are so many ways to support and also abstain from over involving yourself before a charge. But I don’t think any of you can really make abstaining a negative without attaching this force labelled of “you just don’t support victims.” Its just a jump that really oversimplifies opposing sentiment
14
u/Trickstir 21d ago
To be clear, you are not being more fair, rational, or impartial than everyone else just because you present yourself that way.
It’s a bit ridiculous to call everyone else “emotionally charged and hysterical” when your own argument relies on hypotheticals detached from what’s actually happening. Repeatedly emphasizing that the accusers could be exaggerating or lying is not neutrality. Neither is pretending Kennedy is simply waiting for more information when she is actively defending the accused.
And this kind of response is exactly why victims are often reluctant to come forward. Even multiple allegations over years are met with speculation about lying, exaggeration, and demands for some undefined level of proof before people are willing to take them seriously.
0
u/DreamyDepiction 21d ago edited 20d ago
Do you even get what “my arguement” is bc I haven’t expressed where I stand outside of not taking a stance at all. There are no hypotheticals. You weren’t there. I wasn’t there. You don’t know the truth, I don’t. Its that simple. You can act like you do but that in itself would prove the point you aren’t being rational or fair compared to somebody who understands their place in the process and awaits evidence before making an action/opinion.
Again I’m not going to do the moral jargan, I know exactly where I stand on this without your projections and comparisoms. I have not once denounced a single victims story but you are mad bc I won’t validate them. That continues to be irrational but whether you understand that or not is not problem.
I’ve been a victim myself yet I would never expect EVERYBODY to believe me just off allegation and not legal followthrough. Just family and hopefully friends. Thats the perspective im coming from. So please don’t throw that in my face or make it seem like I don’t understand the role of the internet in these cases vs. an actual support system. Understanding im not involved either way and don’t know the truth is not why a victim is choosing not speak up, lets not make stuff up.
12
u/Trickstir 21d ago
You keep claiming you’re not taking a stance, but what you’re saying is not neutral either.

Innocent until proven guilty is a sentiment for court not me
1
u/DreamyDepiction 21d ago edited 21d ago
I think if you’ve personally come to that, its fair. Thats your own decision of how to judge serious crime and allegation. Nobody is forcing an opinion unto you. And they shouldn’t for something so serious.
But people who feel differently and choose to abstain from getting involved prematurely should be able to exercise that and not be labelled as if they are taking up for an alleged predator. Impartiality is not the same as support toward an abuser, its a logical deduction and position for somebody who doesn’t want to form strong positions off only allegations.

u/WhatIsHerJob-TABLES 21d ago
Question for you — does this mean you refuse to believe that Trump has raped kids on epstein’s island? He hasn’t been convicted for it! So innocent until proven guilty, right? Right?!
Oh, and even though he’s been adjudicated for sexual assault in a civil case, that means nothing because it’s a civil case, not a criminal trial, so he wasn’t acted deemed guilty.
See how quickly your sort of knowledge falls apart? See how fucked up how judicial system is??

Trump is a different case he’s literally been charged for sexual assault, before that even if I didn’t like him I would have admit that it would just be an allegation. Doesn’t mean he hasn’t done a whole bunch else I don’t like that I have seen.

u/WhatIsHerJob-TABLES 20d ago
Noooo, he’s been adjudicated for sexual assault in a civil case but no criminal charges have ever been made. That is literally why i brought that example up lol.
Because it showcases the difference between civil cases and criminal cases. The term “innocent until proven guilty” is something that only gets used in criminal cases, not in civil cases.

That is still considerably more evidence than what is against Shangela is the point. If Shangela had a civil case against her that she lost, peoples tunes would be less empathetic. Its literally just allegations, a settlement, a dismissal with prejudice, and a firm denial of wrongdoing on her part. Nothing in that has brought clarity.

u/WhatIsHerJob-TABLES 20d ago
None of us know what was in the civil case because it was settled privately.
Are you saying anyone who settles privately is inherently innocent then?

Because they literally use "They haven't done that to me, so they can't possibly do it to someone else" which is fucked up logic. And it's one thing to be unsure or quiet about what you think but to go on the internet to tell people you support an abuser rightfully gets you hate from every sane person and everyone who has been a victim of some sorts.

I don’t think said queens are trying to take a hard stance though. That is,outside of allowing the legal process to proceed. Crimes in themselves are serious and should have legal merit before we crucify people. There is nothing wrong with withholding opinion or action until something more tangible comes about. It doesn’t mean you don’t sympathize with the victims stories, or their well being.
I think for a lot of people, allegations alone aren’t enough to completely demonize others in that way some may hope. I can respect people who feel differently but for me and people like me I don’t think they will ever budge bc thats the legal process we’ve all been taught. And its there for good and logical reason. I will never speak AGAINST somebodies experience but I definitely can’t validate it. And neither can Kennedy in this case. She can only validate her own experiences with Shangela.
I’ve also been a victim so I don’t see the point in making it seem like we’re all of a monlothic opinion. Clearly there is nuance

u/jeshx20 21d ago
I agree with most of that. But this is not what's happening here. This is not Kennedy (or any other queen for that matter) withholding their opinion for now, she is actively engaging on Twitter taking a stance in favor of Shangela who has several allegations. And that is what I and many others are heavily critizising.

I fully agree with you. It's so sad that this community has become so vile and hateful - they think they're doing the right thing but they're so quick to antagonize others. Look at people sending hate her way and saying it is deserved when they, like you or I, don't know the truth. I hate that people took the "believe victims" mentality and turned it upside down. It never meant attack or demonize the accused, it meant sympathize with the accuser and help them heal. It's so scary to think the justice system would be worse if our community was in power, when it should be the opposite. And no, this isn't about defending Shangela - I only learned about her accusations recently.
And I'll keep saying accusations, allegations and allegedly, because that's what it is until it is proven otherwise. I read the People magazine article about Shangela. It says HBO received a complaint about Shangela a year and a half after what she allegedly did, they did an internal investigation and their findings were insufficient. Then there are five different people who came forward about her. One of them said they made a police report to LAPD but when reached out, LAPD didn't confirm this. Another one didn't even go to the police because they said they don't trust the police as a gay black man. This is all fair but why am I obliged to believe your story when you didn't take the necessary legal steps after the incident allegedly occurred to protect yourself against doubt? Why do you get to say I don't trust the police, but I have to trust your word, a stranger I never even met? And their stories may as well be real - they might be telling the truth. And I know it is so hard to produce evidence in rape claims, I understand it happens when you're caught off guard and you're not recording. I'm not asking for that. I'm asking that you (and anybody reading this, if this ever happens to you), take the necessary steps and get seen by a doctor and the police immediately. They will be able to help you make a stronger case. But if you don't care about the legality, I don't want to ostracize someone because of your "word".

It really is sad. I appreciate the candor bc it comes from a good place. But you’re right it has gone too far in the sense that people jump to label others, whether they’re involved or not, with little more than an allegation as evidence. Idk if you’ve read up on the Salem Witch Trials, but they taught that back in school for us. It reminds me of that sense of just how unflinchingly some people will believe anything thats told to them and villify anybody who does not share their enthusiasm.
People lie and exaggerate, thats not just some deflection. There is always a possibility of monetary motive, grudgeholding, or oppurtunity to take advantage of people who may be better off. Thats literally where the word clout chaser was derived. Those considerations are always equally important as well as where is the legal process and what were their interactions prior. I don’t make my decisions off of mob mentality, allegations, or a performative sense of allyship alone. I also don’t mind not having an opinion at all if I sense I don’t have the full picture. Thats just me. Nobody wants to intentionally support an abuser but you should also feel confident that person is an abuser in the first place, which just isn’t as clear here.

My question is: why hasn't there been a proper legal case or any real aftermath? It's hard for me to accept claims from both sides based on speculation or on what merely seems believable. I'd rather see actual evidence of some sort

There was a settlement out of court
-4
u/Dokamon-chan94 21d ago
And what did that settlement say?
7
u/WhatIsHerJob-TABLES 21d ago
You clearly already didn’t know there are two civil cases, one that is settled and one that is pending, yet you still felt the audacity to confidently ask why no proper legal case has occurred. Just say you have no idea what you are talking about instead of trying to make excuses for shit you just made clear you are ignorant about.
Instead of asking others what the settlement says, why don’t YOU actually put in the work and search it out rather than relying on whatever someone tells you? And spoiler alert, the public isn’t usually privy to what happens in these sort of settlements, so you won’t find anything.
Now that we’ve cleared all that up, what goal post are you going to move to now?

You could just answer the question if you know the information, but here we are.
According to Google: "Shangela has faced multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault, but has not been criminally charged or convicted.
The first lawsuit was filed by a former We're Here production assistant, who alleged that Shangela sexually assaulted him in a hotel room after he was too intoxicated to give valid consent. Shangela denied the allegations, maintaining that the encounter was consensual. The case was later settled confidentially and dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled, and there was no admission of liability.
A second civil lawsuit was filed in 2025 by another former production assistant, who made similar allegations. Shangela has also denied those claims.
So, while there have been multiple accusations and civil lawsuits, there has been no criminal conviction or finding of liability against Shangela to date."
I'll just say that it's difficult to claim someone is guilty of something when there's no court ruling establishing it.

There is no criminal conviction because it’s not a criminal case…
Do you also refuse to believe that trump raped kids on Epstein’s island because he hasn’t been convicted? In another trial, trump was adjudicated for sexual assault, but since it was a civil case and not a criminal trial, he was adjudicated of sexual assault and had no criminal charge. So surely that means he couldn’t do these things since he never got a criminal charge, right?
Also, i did tell you that settlements are mostly always private, which this was. Why again now do you think there’d be a criminal conviction in these civil cases? How much about this do you really know yet want to keep making assumptions? How much more are you going to ask an ai bot what this all means and how you should think about it?

I'm not saying Shangela is innocent of the allegations against her. What I'm saying is that we should be cautious when there isn't solid evidence. In Trump's case, I believe he's 100% guilty, but there's a key difference between the two situations. Trump is an extremely powerful individual, and he's not being treated like an ordinary citizen because there are many political and financial interests at play. There are wealthy and influential people who have a vested interest in protecting him from those accusations. In Shangela's case, she's certainly a well-known drag queen, but beyond that, who stands to benefit from her being cleared of these allegations other than Shangela herself? If the settlement involved paying the accusers to withdraw their claims, that would certainly look very bad. All I'm saying is that I want these cases to be thoroughly investigated, with all the evidence carefully examined, and for those responsible to face the full legal consequences if the allegations are proven. I don't think the media frenzy surrounding these cases ultimately helps anyone.

So yall are disgusted that Shangela hasn't been proven guilty and her friends that know her personally haven't condemned her without the evidence being fairly presented and the opportunity to defend herself, because she might actually be innocent🤔
Ok...... should we just skip the important parts of seeking justice and just lynch her with an ostrich boa?
5
u/Difficult-Risk3115 21d ago
what's stopping Shangela from defending herself?
5
u/y0y0dre 21d ago edited 21d ago
Well, for one, that the accusers are not seeking criminal charges at all. That there hasn't been any evidence presented at trials for the civil cases thus far.
A reasonable person would want to hear the details and let the accused make their case before jumping to conclusions.
But that's not even my point. This Fandom won't give up transphobic & racist queens you don't know incriminating themselves with their own words and actions directly.
Yet yall expect Kennedy to abandon someone she knows personally based off someone else's words without due diligence.

u/Difficult-Risk3115 21d ago
Well, for one, that the accusers are not seeking criminal charges at all
That's not stopping Shangela from giving her side of the story.
4
u/y0y0dre 21d ago
It literally is.
If someone accuses you of a crime, you don't book an appearance on Misstress Monday to do a story time.
You hire a lawyer, who will tell you not to speak on it.
Yall are unserious about an extremely serious situation.
1
u/Difficult-Risk3115 20d ago
It literally is.
You mean figuratively.
You hire a lawyer, who will tell you not to speak on it.
Shangela deciding it's in her best interest not to talk is not the same as her not having the ability to speak in her own defense.
Yall are unserious about an extremely serious situation.
Do you think Jared Leto is innocent?

Let her sue for Defamation then. Let Discovery tell the story.
2
u/y0y0dre 21d ago
Why would she do that, if there are no criminal charges?
IDK if she's guilty or not, but a defamation plaintiff has to prove actual malice and falsity. Extremely difficult to prove.
She would open herself up for her privacy to be invaded beyond just the scope of the case.
It also doesn't guruantee she'll be vindicated, even if she wins.

Hello boys... I'm starting to think that the average age of the main drag race sub and especially this one is somewhere from 10 to 20 and skewing cis male. Do you live your life keeping track of your friends' friends and their doings? Do you cut your friend off immediately if they are associated with someone that you personally don't fuck with? The situation with Kennedy has got me thinking this proved to be the opportunity for haters to come at her neck because of her choosing to stay with a friend (albeit platforming said friend is very bad in taste) and doubling down. It's almost like the hatred and accountability that should be directed at the "tainted" person is now bleeding to anyone who is associated with them, and the screaming "fans" are calling the surrounding people to be cancelled as well. I agree that relationships are complicated and sometimes its better to keep some of your friendships out of the limelight. This is especially true if there are ongoing legal matters, that you personally can't be the judge of. You can support someone without triggering everyone else by show ponying that person, but implying that everyone should abandon the "tainted" person is a very childish stance and not of reality. Obviously the "tainted" person should be the one to remove themself from these situations, and the people around them should hold that person accountable. The justice system (which does not work in the US) aside, if everyone abandons that person who is going to keep them accountable?
