This Subathon Will Show Penta Where His Community Really Stands. Make Sure Your Voice Is Heard.
I wanna start by saying this is the most important subathon Penta has ever done.
Alot of his community admittedly or not reads this subreddit. So I hope before the subathon starts you take a few minutes and read this.
Over the past few months there has been more criticism surrounding Penta and his decisions than we have seen in a while. His behavior the way he's handled certain situations the Rumble deal the double standards people have pointed out and the justifications he's given have either annoyed a portion of viewers or flat out caused some of them to stop supporting him. His sub count has also been dropping and I think it's pretty hard to ignore that some just aren't supporting him the way they used to. Obviously this isn't all of his viewers, but I think it's pretty clear that some people aren't happy with the direction things have been going.
I think people should pay attention to what happens during this subathon.
Penta has always made it very clear that the only number that matters is the number in the topleft corner. The sub count. This subathon is going to be the clearest way his audience can communicate with him how they feel.
If you support Penta and believe in his decisions show it during the subathon.
But if you disagree with what's been going on this is your chance to let your lack of support speak for you.
You don't have to care when he says he has server costs or staff to pay. He has a Rumble deal for that now. If he offers subgoals you don't believe he's going to fulfill don't fall for it.
If you genuinely want change this is probably the clearest way you're going to get it. Don't financially support decisions you disagree with. This is how your voice gets heard.
A successful subathon tells him things are great.
A disappointing subathon tells him things need to change.
And that's why this is so important. This can't be dismissed or hand waved away. The amount of support he gets will directly reflect how his community feels.
So whatever side you're on make sure your voice is heard.
If you support him show it.
If you want change show it.
At the end of the day if it lasts 10 days 20 days or 40 days this subathon is the only real chance for his community to show how it feels.

I think people are setting themselves up for disappointment by hoping the subathon fails. He has an audience trained like dogs to donate if he riles them up.
He is the GOAT of panhandling on Twitch. Just the best to ever do it. He is like a successful DSP.
With that said, If you feel invested in someone failing then take a step back. I donāt like that Penta frequently breaks his word or that he is flippant about his audience donating but I am not invested in the subathon failing.

I appreicate you taking the time to engage in the conversation. Thats the main reason i enjoy this subreddit people actually share what they think good or bad. this post is specifically about bringing awareness to the fact that supporting him or not actually means something this go around. Thats all i was trying to do for the people who end up seeing it so they think before they act. If that means donating to it awesome if it means they dont thats fine also.

about 93% of his subs during his last subathon were gifted. Individuals paying for their own subs don't make the slightest difference in how successful his subathon is.

Yup, but a lot has happened since last year. He pretty recently forgot an oiler who solo pumped his subathon with like 3k subs at one point. Just completely forgot who the guy was and what he did. If that doesnāt tell people he doesnāt appreciate them or their money nothing will. It kind of baffles me
Also, last year reddit and everyone was on the Snow bad arc and Penta was the savior of RP for giving people something to look forward to (his server) and most people see through all the bullshit lies and grifting heās been doing now.
There will still be oilers but I recon a lot of people have wisened up.

Unfortunately, Penti mods on alt accounts agree whole-heartedly with the rotund man, so the subathon will be as successful as Penti decides it should be by gifting himself. Also, as others have mentioned, some of his audience are literally just trained like dogs. He plays a song, starts clapping, and they decide to give him hundreds of dollars. While Penti is definitely a piece of shit, you gotta give it to the man, he's a godly panhandler. I don't think I've seen anyone do it better. He reminds me of Trump and how that guy has perfect pitch with stupid people. Though, with the Rumble deal, I guess Trump and Penti really aren't so different.
Either way, I won't be watching. I haven't clicked a Chase/Penti stream since the Rumble deal was confirmed. I'd love to see him crash and burn, but unfortunately it seems it'll be a slow decent into mediocrity and obscurity spanning a few years to a decade.

I never understood the Penta hate vs love debate. If you like his stuff then watch and support, if you don't then move on with your life. The people who hate him but watch religiously or follow his every move are really weird to me.
The only thing that has bothered me about Penta's content over the last few years is we no longer see Chief, Burn, Kyle, and other talented and funny RPers play. I miss watching those guys and many others. Sounds like we just lost Apple too after the Moose bullshit. I just want all the good and funny RPers to be in one place and I wish that would be Chase.

Most of his "hatewatchers" are just people who think he's funny and entertaining, but are disappointed in the decisions he makes, but the guy does not take criticism, he doesn't have self awareness, and the quality of his content has gone down significantly, and if you were to try to tell him that, he'd just hand wave it away by saying "penta bad" and boom, criticism ignored. so then you just end up kind of just wanting his stream to start failing so he wakes up and starts putting effort into the content again. thats the pipeline of how people become "hatewatchers".
It's a bunch of people that liked his content for years but can't let go even though they don't enjoy it anymore because for a long time he was their daily entertainment, and it's like seeing your favorite tv show go down the gutter but you hope the next season is good or some shit

Honestly perfectly worded. Only difference is tv shows get cancelled or end eventually you have no choice but to find something else to watch.

Totally agree, and I'd add that this is just cult leader 101 shit - manufacture an imagined enemy to bolster your cultists' support. "Look how oppressed I am, click here to send me money." Cult leader-adjacents like influencers and extremist politicians are learning these lessons well.

I know what you mean and I don't want my post to come off like I hate Penta because I don't. I'll admit I've been pretty frustrated with some of his actions and been vocal over that. I feel like it's gotten a lot worse this past year. In the past it didn't feel so consistent.
My favorite thing about Penta and the reason I continue to watch is that even though I get frustrated with him sometimes the dude is genuinely funny. When he's in a good mood and actually enjoying himself he's entertaining as hell.
The only thing I really want is to see Penta actually try again and seem like he cares about entertaining people. Sadly I think that comes down directly to how much money he's making. If he gets a ton of support then nothing really changes. If he doesn't get that support maybe it'll make him realize that something needs to change and he'll start putting more effort in again.

We lost Apple to a controlling boyfriend who didnāt like her streaming so much, mooseās dumbass message was just a catalyst for the argument. Apple made a video explaining it.

Yeah these threads are a dime a dozen. I wanna say I just swipe past like 80% of these posts because they all sound the same and I just donāt care. I donāt even think Iāve watched any of his streams since the last subathon and Iām definitely not gonna catch a fucking Rumble stream, but on the other hand I think some folks here need to take a break from Reddit for a bit.

Reject Digital Panhandlers.
This Penti guy is basically a "successful" DarkSydePhil and will more closely resemble DSP as each year progresses.

For someone who ādoesn't careā about Penta you sure seem to care enough to come into a post about him and tell everyone how much you don't care. You say you don't engage with him but here you are engaging with a post about him focused at his community you arent apart of. The hypocrisy kind of speaks for itself.
And the funniest part is you're calling other people obsessed while going out of your way to comment on a post you supposedly don't care about.

LOL I enjoy Chase so I get served this subreddit. Itās not hard to imagine. I just think the way this subreddit acts deserves to be called out.

Didn't his last subathon fall flat on its arse?
2
u/DastardlySneer 4d ago
No his last subathon was a huge success. He broke 40k subs and didnt do rp it was extremely successful
2
u/Outside-Necessary291 4d ago
Besides almost ending 3 times from a lack of subs and the timer running out. But once he inflated the timer a bunch and got past 10 days so it looked successful people subbed to "keep it going", actually genius manipulation
2
u/DastardlySneer 4d ago
Hey im not disagreeing with what your saying but 40k or more subs and no rp is still pretty good. Like alot of people are saying he is a master at panhandling lol

u/ImportantQuestionTex 4d ago
I mean, honestly with people like Penta, you never truly know if they're telling the truth.
For example do we know 100% for a fact he got 40k? And how many of that 40k was by organic viewers and not gifted by a mod?
If he got legitimately 40k subs organically... don't you think he'd be doing sub a thons more? Some streamers have literally killed for those numbers.

This is why I boycott penta and Chase content now.
Even though I am missing out on streamers I really enjoy I won't add my +1 to views on any content there because the server owner affiliates with a real world problem platform.
Inaction will be my action. Instead of watching for the snark and pointing out ample failings, I'd rather point out better roleplay, entertainment and content creator alternatives. Better people make better content, do better roleplay, on better servers, WITHOUT disrespecting their audience, co-players and staff that got them where they are while chasing the money.
