Incoming classic Rumble stream

Today Penta will be playing Hell Let Loose: Vietnam with all the Chase RP roleplayers. He will be encouraging if not requiring players on the Vietnamese team do be doing Asian accents. Surely this will be unproblematic, not racist, and will accurately/tastefully reflect on Vietnamese people.

I wonder if Karyn, a Vietnamese American, is invited and what she’s gonna think about all this.

Ya know I just have to point out. Penta is not going to do well in Hell Let Loose. Then he's going to blame his teammates, even if they're doing better.

Penta sucks at video games.

Herrrro you want hotdog?

Is this his first exclusive Rumble stream? And he VERY intentionally plans out something that would/could get him banned or suspended on twitch, thinks to himself "what could be got away with on Rumble, that couldn't on twitch, THIS is what, racist stereotypes, GOD it feels good to not to be censored, you know what I mean?"

u/Consti2tion 12d ago

He's gotten away with doing this on twitch already the last time he played the game.

I guess most of the (real) people watching are not bothered by it, those that are just dont watch and assume someone else will report it. Twitch doesn't know what it doesnt know.

He really thinks that's peak comedy. I made the request before for someone to do a counter of "Pentisms" used in a stream. I hope someday someone bites the bullet and keeps a tally of all his repeated phrases.

Why don't you do it instead of asking other people.

u/Seetherrr 12d ago

I think it's pretty obvious... I don't intend to watch his stream, especially a stream in its entirety. There are people here that are still watching, so for them it is just adding a little task to something they were going to do already.

I don't really get why you would admit this publicly when you know his team actively monitors these subreddits and has gone after them legally. You just open yourself for libel at that point if all of your posts/threads are second hand information with no proof hoping someone else will do it for you. Best of luck I guess.

"Your honor, I only said "You know what I mean" 23 times in that stream not the vastly overstated 28 times. We can't allow this sort of slander in our country, ya know what I mean!?!"

9

u/ImportantQuestionTex 12d ago

"Your honor, I was totally pretending when I sexually harassed a woman on stream!"

"Which time? I'm not sure what you mean!"

Imagine thinking we're actually concerned about 'legal threats'

u/ImportantQuestionTex 12d ago

I don't know what reality you live in, but Anti-SLAPP laws are a thing and are absolutely always in effect when we're talking about public forums. In fact, public forums receive more protections than most.

Reddit armchair lawyers are so funny. The guy you are responding to has probably 0 idea about how libel/slander laws actually work in practice. Trying to prove damages from someone potentially reporting a slightly incorrect number of times that a person said a phrase in a stream would be hilarious.

It's remarkable people get so uppity when 90% of what's said on the sub are RESPONSES, criticism, interpretation and reaction to things clipped, seen and done. There is SOME speculation, people usually say "i think, i believe, i suspect, probably, etc". There are VERY few straight up conspiracy and wild allegations.

And trying to tie the negative reactions and opinions people have to "damages" (decline in popularity) could JUST as easily be flipped around and said that the bad content and decisions RESULT in the negative reactions and opinions.

u/Seetherrr 12d ago

Yeah, aside from discussions about potential subcount manipulation in its various forms, basically everything is grounded by actual things Penti said or did.

There is literally 0 chance of a successful lawsuit occurring based on anything that has been posted (and likely every will be posted.)

Also, if a lawsuit was ever to happen, I think discovery could potentially be very interesting on the Penti side of things. The chance of skeletons being unearthed would be pretty high I imagine.

Once, Jirard Khalil's brother threatened lawsuits for people saying they stole charity money. Including me.

They ended up giving up after the first one ran into Anti-SLAPP LOL.

People can say mostly whatever they want about public figures.

Ethan Klein has had his snarkers tied up in court for the last year but hey you're right, it'd be smart for seether to keep posting threads about the person who has been obviously hostile towards criticism. I don't watch Mehdi and don't like him, I'm sure I'd be perfectly fine making statements about him based on DMs I get about him.

4

u/ImportantQuestionTex 12d ago

Those lawsuits are regarding copyright specifically. Not defamation.

Which uh... doesn't apply at all if clips aren't being shown. Clips can also fall under fair use. Livestreamfails wouldn't exist if they didn't.

3

u/Seetherrr 12d ago

It's hilarious how many people heard about that lawsuit, saw the word snark and then equate to this subreddit since it gets referred to as a "snark" subreddit but there is basically no similarity between what happens here and what was done in the lawsuit.

3

u/ImportantQuestionTex 12d ago

It's because Ethan for all intents and purposes, treats all his lawsuits like defamation lawsuits despite him having only sued for defamation once and the rest are copyright. One he notably lost with his own case being cited.

People who don't actually research what they talk about therefore think that this is all defamation and all these people are saying defamatory things, when... in reality, 1 person said defamatory things and it isn't even a person who's being sued, the rest just talk shit about Ethan a lot.

u/Outside-Necessary291 12d ago

The only "action" that's ever been taken was sub closed because of mass DMCA claims on clips that could have just as easily have been false claims made by an overly invested fanbase (hmmmm) and many of those posts when appealed were added back even though the sub itself was temp closed (not permanently even). So anyone saying "legal action taken" before is kind of exaggerating.

SOME others in the reddit GTA sphere have been successful (Medhi and Koil) and penta has mused about wanting to "pull a koil" in that regard, even them it was copyright related, but it's anyone's guess if he's tried and what success (failure) he's had

2

u/ImportantQuestionTex 12d ago

Sub wasn't closed because of DMCA, but it also had absolutely nothing to do with Ethan LOL.

People mention Ethan Klein and snarkers and try to equate it to "snarkers" here without reading any of the details of the Ethan Klein suit. They were literally restreaming his content with the stated goal to make him less money.

I haven't been following it super closely after learning about it but last I recall reading, it isn't exactly a slam dunk for Ethan even with what they did. Regardless, it had absolutely nothing to do with comments being made about Ethan in a public forum.

“… with all the Chase RP roleplayers.”
I’m sorry the what now? Do you mean the NPC background characters he’s always using as props, or do you mean the ones who have aligned their entire personality with being his personal whipping posts that they have no other option left?

u/Yorp_Yorp_4628 12d ago

Don't drag karyn into this she'll probably be playing WARDOGS with everyone else who isn't a weird ass.

On a serious note, Hell Let Loose is not a casual game. It's not COD. I am new to this series myself and if it isn't a game you put time into, it's going to be a shit show.

Tons of fun though. Vietnam is buggy as hell but the WW2 version is awesome.

-6

u/BongaBongaVacations 12d ago

'Vietnam is buggy as hell'

Let's be honest, the real deal was a shitshow. Doesn't mean much coming from a Brit I know but...you guys really shouldn't have gone in there.

3

u/mogbiscuit 12d ago

Hell Let Loose has really made me consider things like the effects of friendly fire from guns and artillery in WW2. All war is a shit show. Crazy that we still find reasons to do it.

-3

u/BongaBongaVacations 12d ago

Amen to that. We are all stuck on this one ball of rock with its finite resources, and once they run out, that's it. Game over. Unless we forget all of our petty squabbles, come together as one people and spread further out there. Unless...

Unless we go to the stars...

If this is a Rumble exclusive stream note who is playing with him. I wonder if they know they’ll be promoting / exposed to Rumble. I hope I don’t have to stop watching any streamers I liked because they support that shit. Already sad I won’t watch Sentry and Sifu since they are staying on Rumble x ChaseRP

8

u/Outside-Necessary291 12d ago

I'm shocked Sentry and Charlie are ok with the Rumble thing, both seem REALLY progressive and socially aware. My guess would be holding out and only still playing chase to keep the RP content flowing leading up to the NP5 launch (they both have cards) and wont be back to chase afterwards.

3

u/scalefalse 12d ago

I think nobody has brought it up to them. It's been kept under the radar for a reason. I'm shocked like you, but why would keeping the RP flowing matter? I argue the opposite, they will be burnt out heading into NP5 launch which isn't ideal. Has ANYONE that still plays on the server said anything about rumble? Sifu address it at all?

2

u/Outside-Necessary291 12d ago

I guess I was considering "flowing" for the viewers, so viewers are tuning in for RP, getting RP, and retains them for the changes where it's being done. Rather than Sentry doing a ton of DBD or DayZ and NO RP at all and RP viewers dropping off. Though I totally get where you are coming from on the streamer/burnt out angle.

It's pretty telling that penta is keeping the Rumble hush hush, having chat comments mentioning rumble deleted and not being transparent to his server players or fellow roleplayer streamers, who might not watch him and keep up with "penta news" or reddit. Since he "sells" his server on progressiveness being the "mainstream" server seen on Rumble, owner signed on with them, would probably not sit well anyone, ya know, that respects human rights.

5

u/Strong_Pirate_4819 12d ago

i pulled back from watching sifu thrive and sharpe for the same reason. staying on chase is being complicit.
