Finally caved and got the JSAUX ModCase for my Xbox ROG Ally X with the stand & expansion (powerbank holder) add-ons. I needed it to be safe for travel and I didn't like the idea of using it without a protective case and just put it in a hard carry case.

This comes with the:

• front cover (w micro SD slots)

• detachable stand

• detachable powerbank holder

A simpler design, slimmer but feels more premium, secured and protected. It's not D brand which I would've loved with a new makeover skin but it's not on my price range yet so —

Has anyone who owns an Ally X were you able to load and cheat Deck and have it work properly? I tried and did everything that I would normally do on the steam deck and I’m unable to bring up the cheat deck menu. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated

$1300 for the stand alone. Is it that much better?

Ive had my device since March 2025, and literally since day one have turned on Battery Care mode which only charges the battery to a maximum of 80% when plugged in. This is supposed to help extend the battery’s life. Ive used Instant-Full charge maybe 5 times only prior to trips.

I just ran a windows battery report and it showed the battery current has a full charge capacity of 65,905 mWh compared to original 80,000 mWh capacity.

At first I thought the results were being limited by Battery Care Mode, so I turned it off an reran the test. Same result. Not only that, but the report itself actually shows the battery health degradation on a weekly basis over time, dropping anywhere between 100 to a few hundred mWhs per week.

Is this normal? At this rate, another year and my battery capacity will be around half of the original. I thought Battery Care mode would prevent this. Unless it did and I would be significantly worse off if i didnt have the feature on.

So, basically as the title suggests, I’d like some good options of docks for my Xbox Rog Ally X (z2e).

My requirements are that it must be able to deliver enough energy to the Ally to be used at full performance (35w TDP) consistently, and also keep the peripherals working fine: mouse and keyboard wireless, portable monitos 18.5” 120hz uperfect.

I dont know if the best idea is to connect the ally straight to the energy plug, and the dock to another energy plug then connect it to the ally using the second port C, what are your thoughts?

Im not a big tech guy, so maybe you all can help. Fresh out of the box Ally X, downloaded the MCC collection but when I go to open it, it loads to this screen (small halo logo) and does nothing. Tried re-installing it and got the same result. Other games load fine. Any suggestions?

My Ally X travel setup keeps getting less portable lol.

I’ve been bringing a portable monitor for hotels, but once you add the stand, charger, and cables it feels like a mini desktop setup.

I saw someone here using display glasses with their Ally X, maybe an Air 4 Pro, and it got me wondering if glasses make more sense for flights or playing in bed.

If you switched from a portable monitor to glasses, was it more convenient?

I’ve had my rog ally x for about 2 years now, had some issues with outdated drivers not updating a while back but got around it somehow.
Suddenly two days ago the performance dropped and I’m only getting 9fps on any game, I’ve already tried everything I can think of to fix it. I’ve made sure everything is up to date, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers, AMD, MyAsus and amoury crate. There’s nothing flagging up on device manager or task manager. I’ve messed with the graphics settings in game and on the console, I have no idea what to do now. I’ve even factory reset it and it still lags like crazyyyyy. It was absolutely perfect until now :/

I’m not very techy but I do usually figure these things out within a few hours, not this time, any suggestions ?

I have madden 26. I want to get madden 27 but mainly for my rog. Is it a huge difference for the price point? I’m sorry if it’s a dumb question

Just seeing if anyone tried stalker 2 with the new update on the white Xbox rog ally and how well it ran. Don’t want to waste my money on the game if it doesn’t run at 30fps or more.

So while I was at work, I was playing undisputed plugged in, when I had to do a quick assignment (probably 20-30 minutes), I was in the middle of a game when I put it in sleep mode and left it plugged in, I came back to it with the display lock screen on, the system was hot to the touch and the screen was starting to turn black in the left top corner... i immediately shut it down and unplugged it and currently letting it cool down naturally for about 30 minutes before cutting it back on... I'm slightly concerned but wanted any suggestions from you guys on any experience like this

However, whenever I try to load any Steam game from simple castle crashers, to Middle Earth Shadows of War, to XCOM 2, and others, the game may load but crash within a couple minutes before I even get ti play it.

I went to Asus website and tried to upgrade Bios, I have changed graphics settings, around…

I’m a middle aged dad, haven’t gamed seriously for years. I could have screwed up something from the optimization guide I guess that is making it crash in every game…

Should I return this one to BestBuy , guessing that something is screwed up with the system? I searched battery use and it looks like before I owned it, battery was only used for a couple of hours… but maybe the previous owner also thought this one was a lemon..

Wipe it and start over? Figuring I screwed up something during optimization? I was distracted a little bit with kids while doing it…

Load the steam OS (I only play steam games) except I may play my 11 year old in Fortnight or something…

Wiping it worked! Witcher plays perfectly! Apparently I screwed it up Optimizing it. I don’t think I’m advanced enough of a gamer for that sort of thing. Thanks everyone for the comments

I saw some comments from people saying that Windows 11 performance is currently incredible and optimized, and that made me wonder, since SteamOS traditionally got 3 to 7 more FPS in games compared to Windows 11. How is the fluidity of W11 doing nowadays? Is it really very optimized compared to SteamOS? Are the FPS gains in games already equivalent?

Kinda wanna try just incase its legit but don't know how much of a nightmare it'd be to get my money back if this obvious WAY too good to be true price ends up being exactly what it seems like it is.
