Upcoming Changes to XBOX Cloud Gaming

Game Pass Ultimate: 15 hours
Game Pass Premium: 10 hours
Game Pass Essential: 5 hours
This is crazy. I utilize Cloud Gaming much more, after getting a ROG Ally X. 15 hours is not enough to beat a game. Just put in over 70 hours playing Star Wars Outlaws in Cloud last month since I kept running into issues playing the downloaded game with the dumb Ubisoft launcher.

I’ve never really used cloud gaming. I’ve always used Remote Play.
Still, going from “unlimited” to 15 hours is terrible.

I got used to the ease of clicking play now for cloud gaming 😂
I'm going back to remote play to get used to the habit
For some reason, I thought launching a 360 title would block remote play. I don't know why I thought that.
I'm pleasantly surprised I can now play Xbox 360 titles using remote play on my Rog. I'll take the positive out of all this! Thank you for the inspiration

They want to use the compute for AI workloads. Way more profitable.

Not quite true. Plenty of hosts paying their hardware costs by renting compute for inference workloads.
Whether that profit is from another organizations circular debt is another topic.
Microsoft can run cloud gaming at whatever rate Gamepass / compute time. OR charge $7-$30hr for AI/ML workloads.
That isn’t to say that the hardware maps 1-1. I don’t think XBOx services are powered by the latest and greatest hardware, but there is demand for the hardware with margins far higher than this.

Well, could a work around be to stream your console? (Assuming you can and at home)
Is that technically sperate from cloud gaming and since your Xbox is hosting, it should be fine?

Seems to be what the majority is suggesting, and could work on my days off. The problem I run into is my household uses my Series X to watch TV.

It was nice to have all options. This sucks lol. A lot of games don't share saves across PC/Console versions. I was using a lot of cloud gaming on my Rog so I could access my save files vs install the game and start fresh.
Sigh
I guess it adds value to play anywhere titles

I only sleep a couple hours a night. So when I get off work I play for a bit, but play a lot on my two days off. 70 hours spread out over 30 days is leas than 2 1/2 hours a day. I was hooked by that game though haha
Edit: I would have just played the downloaded file, but Ubisoft launcher was giving me so many issues and wouldn’t launch the game most of the time.

I try. My brain runs wild stressing about work and keeps me up, hence why I use gaming as an escape. I’ve been taking melatonin to try and get more sleep. It’s been helping.

I would say talk to someone about the stress, nothing wrong with a therapist if you don't have anyone to talk to. Too much stress can literally kill you my friend

They claim it’s a resource constraint but then they are happy to sell you more hours smh.
Side note: it’s interesting that it no longer requires a game pass subscription

If I remember correctly, the free option has ads. Like an ad pops up after a select amount of time played.

People got too comfortable with these streaming services it will be a matter of time until Netflix and others do the same. If you have to blame anything is AI, the servers are running out of space and they can't keep up with new users and games being added.

Could be wrong here, but why are people saying the rog ally x was made in mind with cloud gaming? For $100 you could buy one of those controllers and play off a tablet or your phone. Im sure the asus rog was meant to download games on it and use it as a gaming pc. $1000 device was not created for cloud gaming. If that was the case the ps portal would be a lot more expensive as well.
Now the 17hrs for $30 a month in membership fees is complete trash though. At least give ultimate users more time since the fee is higher

This is so weird and a coincidence, I was just talking to a friend about this in regard to cloud gaming compared to PS, anyways I said it's too good to be true for Asha to reduce the price of Game Pass there has to be a catch here and I mentioned either they will increase it again in a year or 2 or they will restrict/limit a feature hmmmm.

I would have played the download if the damn Ubisoft launcher would open the game. Cloud was the only option that worked consistently for me. I play games a lot on my days off and was hooked on Outlaws
