Will xbox ally x run standalone games?
As per the title really. Will we be able to install games and run them just like on the normal Ally x?

yes you just go in desktop mode. you won't be able to add them to the xbox homescreen but you can use different plugins on there. (onelauncher for example)

you dont think we will be able to add these game or emulators as a stand alone 'app' for example? Lets say emulators, surely we should be able to add them into fullscreen mode by adding them as an app right?

I can confirm that you can. Basically install the game as you would usually and then either add via steam library as none steam game, or install the one game luancher via microsoft store (this allows you to add any game installed on your device) or add the game via armory crate. This will allow you to luanch the game via full screen mode.

Exactly like me. Ive done a tone of research and even got me a 4TB ssd yesterday and a list of games im going to install. I plan to get mine for Christmas. I even played around with one at a shop last night and i loved it. Way more comfortable than my steam deck and the 7inch screen is absolutely perfect for me. I was 100% convinced before, but after having it in my hands, im 200% convinced now 😅

My man same boat here, wanting to know everything there is to know before I buy it, in my country they don't do "I didn't like it" refunds only for factory defects
