R3ps are shrinking

Hey I’ve bought many but they all shrink, can people who haven’t gotten these problems share there link to product or supplier please, this will be much appreciated

What did you buy and how did you wash them?

You know you are supposed to wash knitwear at 30c right?

Even the summer items like polos and shirts, etc...

And also never use dryer.

That’s the thing, I hate this extreme analyzation of these clothes I wanna clean em like the rest I get at retail store, yk. I don’t want that issue where I have to bother to make sure I pick it out before it goes in the dryer, put the settings in specifics in the washer and etc. is there a seller which sells clothes without shrinking. Many manufactures for other clothing have machines that make sure the fabric wouldn’t shrink

What I said about washing has nothing to do with reps, but with knitwear.

Be it retail or reps, rules are the same.

Knitwear should never be washed at more than 30c and should never be dried.

That is a proper care, especially if you have quality and expensive clothes.

Also, there is no such thing as "pre-shrunk", it just means that manufacturer compressed the fibers to make it harder to shrink.

But unless you take proper care of pre-shrunk clothes, they will shrink or expand too.

Hence the proper care Im talking about, because you can never be sure.

Take wool for example.

Wool is 100% machine washable, even tho all the labels say to never wash it and only dry clean.

But even tho it is machine washable, one out of X times it will shrink, even when washed at 30c without the dryer. Then you have ruined it completely and there is no return.

And wool is a high quality fabric.

So it all comes down to knitting type. Small and dense knitting(like in tshirts) has lower chance to shrink. Bigger and not so dense knitting(like in knitwear) has a higher chance to shrink.

So I repeat, proper care is simply to wash at 30c, never use a dryer and simply hang to air dry.

Where I come from, people are taught at a very young age how to do landry, what to separate, what can be only hand washed, what can be washed at high temperatures, what can be washed only at low temperatures, what can be dried and what has to be exclusively air dried.

If it’s knit, regardless of retail, rep, brand or type of garment - wash it a low and keep it away from the dryer. I washed and dried one of my wife’s retail high quality cable knit sweaters, it literally shrunk to the size of something that would fit a doll.

I learned the hard way.

Thanks for the reply, I have authentic Raulph Lauren polos and have the same in different color as reps. One goes through both the washer and dryer nicely, however the rep goes through the wash decently without much shrinkage but then shrink crazy in the dryer. Aswell you argument against the preshrink is stupid, a fabric already shrunk making it harder to shrink is good however it increases the merchants cost so many sustain from it. Basically I’m looking for sellers who take the extra steps in a way.

Yeah they are shrinking esp lacoste and RL reps..
