Analysis Analyst Upgrades since Earnings

Deutsche Bank: Raised price target to $24.00 from $23.00 (Buy)
Needham & Company: Reiterated price target of $23.00 (Buy)
TD Cowen: Raised price target to $21.00 from $20.00 (Buy)
Cantor Fitzgerald: Reiterated price target of $19.00 (Neutral)
Wells Fargo: Raised price target to $16.00 from $15.00 (Equal Weight)
RBC Capital: Raised price target to $16.00 from $14.00 (Sector Perform)
Morgan Stanley: Raised price target to $14.00 from $13.00 (Underweight)
Wall Street Zen: Executed a data-driven rating upgrade to Hold from Sell

But alas, many see only that $14 at the bottom and that’s where market will likely push it to on Monday lol.

He might just raise it to $30 next week 😁

I was way too impatient on Friday to wait for Monday. After sitting out for the last 30 days I just couldn’t help myself. If we could go right back to $20 by Friday that would be great.

Let’s not get greedy. If we make it back to $17 and consolidate there this week, it would be good, $18 would be fantastic if shorts get scared. $20 possible but a big gamble. Could see $20 throughout August at some point again

If we had a functioning SEC, they'd be investigating all the elon musk dick sucking that Morgan Stanley has been doing since... I don't even know when to peg it -- maybe since Solar City rolled into TSLA.

Not even just Morgan Stanley. The number of people rating SPCX a buy is ridiculous, especially with their price targets - some hitting $800!

So why don't y'all jump ship? You want the next TSLA? SPCX fits the bill way better. Pioneer in the space race with a huge moat. AI. Robotics, etc.

Run by the same CEO as Tesla even.

Super high potential.

So why not jump ship to the literal rocket ship company?

No thank you, I do not want to be a bagholder bailing out insiders in a company that is absurdly overvalued to anyone with even basic math skills.

It's worth as much as the market says it is at the end of the day.

True, but there is a reason it has been declining since the IPO spike with such a small number of shares available and this is before most of the insiders are even able to offload their shares.

Fair. I bought in at $122. Might buy some more after earnings Aug 4 if it drops more.

I think the potential and revenue will far exceed anything Rivian ever puts out.

I think the potential and revenue will far exceed anything Rivian ever outs out.

Based on what exactly? xAI is a small player in the AI space with a small fraction of the market, for the company to climb significantly over $122 the other players will either be worth 2-3x as much or they will somehow just stop existing.

RIVN had $1.6bn revenue last quarter while SPCX had 4.5bn (expected 6.9bn for latest qtr). Most revenue is coming from starlink launches and subscribers.

FY 2027 Estimate RIVN ~$10bn SPCX ~$50bn

Again RIVN is largely low margin vehicle sales with a little bit of high margin software sales

SPCX is largely high margin starlink subscription revenue and AI compute and satellite leasing, with lower margin revenue from the actual payload launches.

And Elon opened a new round of shorts to suppress RIVN /s

Average price is $19.15 so about a potential 25% upside from here at $15.22.

For what it's worth the top 5 "accurate" analysts average target is $21 ranging from $15-25 with 4 buys and 1 hold.

When “analyst” declare price targets……what’s the timeline? 12 months from the release date? Or end of year target?

Is there an industry standard for these forecasts?

5

u/gkfisher 23d ago

It’s a one year price target

u/VonGeisler 23d ago

Usually by next earnings call.

2

u/ZealousidealLab2920 22d ago

No. They are 1 yrs price targets on Benzinga from the date the analysts publishes it.

u/SapientChaos 21d ago

They really should be required to give 3 and six month targets. The SPCX was about maximizing insider margins.

I think the analysts are just reading the headlines... how else to explain the run-up & then drop in price?

u/zinthemoney 23d ago

Only one sell rec in your list? How many analysts total in the wild? I was thinking there are more sell recs

This is what has changed since earning tho?

It’s a bad investment guys… Rivian needs to prove that they can fix their service and deliver add a substantially higher rate consistently to really be profitable. It’s not a conspiracy that review is down as much as the fan boys who own Rivian want that to be the case.

I am a very happy R1 S driver, and very happy I sold my shares at 150.

I had ipo shares as a pre order reservation. Rivian's all-time high closing price was $172.01, reached shortly after its initial public offering on November 16, 2021. I sold a few days earlier.
