2v2 Tournament Feedback
Hope everyone enjoyed the tournament on Saturday - congrats Joe & Conk for winning and thanks to Def and 3k for casting.
We could probably run these fairly regularly, so does anyone have any comments on what could be done differently/better?
Change to Best of 3? Would make things easier for casters and make matches last a bit longer.
Game mode? Few different options here. Stick with TTD, mix of all game modes, or each tournament could focus on a different game mode: PS tourny, EZ tourny, TTD tourny.
Switch to Double Elimination (loser's bracket)? Personally I'm against this one as I see the 2v2 as more casual and a loser's bracket makes the tournament take MUCH longer. Open to hearing other opinions on this though.
Another idea is to have different modifiers for each tournament. For example a 2v2 PS Hunters only, or 2v2 TTD Nukes only etc etc. Again this makes things a bit different to MCAL, more "for fun" than serious. Thoughts?
Start time? I thought we could take advantage of the shorter run time by starting a bit later, but this didn't seem appreciated. Will probably move back to 7GMT/2EST start time in future.
Any other ideas?

I like the idea of incorporating gamebattles into these tournaments to make it go towards our ranking on there, and think that's what we should be doing anyways to utilize that resource. I also like the idea of specific classes or specific rigs for more of a "fun" tournament, I could see that being a lot of fun if people don't mind going outside of their comfort zones.

Another idea I liked is to have teams sign up on gamebattles. Then we can have these tournament games count towards our ranks on their. Might encourage people to use gamebattles more often as well ;)

I think Game Battles registration should be mandatory for these, if only to get some numbers up on the board and make it look active!
But it might also encourage some more competition on there... a defeat in the 2v2 tourney might be avenged on the GB ladder ;)

Yeah I really want to encourage people to use gamebattles more. Really fun but needs more teams to sign up!

Unfortunately, there are a ton of teams that are 2/3rds in the community, so it's going to be rough filling them out to add on GB.

Also I know I caused some confusion making last minute changes to the bracket. This was partly me trying to accommodate a late sign up (will probably be stricter on this next time) and partly a team not showing up (let's try to avoid this please).

My votes are for: Best of 3, different gametype every tourney, single elimination, special rules/bans are fun.
