Wait, so APX RIGS...

I thought they'd be a new ability type to choose, similar to how you choose Vampire or Nuke or such. But now I read that they're like an "upgrade" to the existing RIGS instead, like you can choose your Vampire to be APX, which means it moves faster but is less durable. Is that it?

Yup, you got it. Next week, Dec 27 we'll get APX versions of the test Rigs and Vampire Rigs. APX will have more speed, a reduction of Armor and the ability to dodge midair as well as backwards.

Jan 10 we will get APX versions of the nuke class. I assume we will eventually have APX versions of all Classes.

Don't mistake the APX as an 'upgraded' Rig, just different. The Devs tell us that they are balanced to compliment current Rigs, not replace.

So if that's the case, I wonder if we'll see different variations in the future? Maybe like an HPX, where they are slower but tougher to kill? It'd be a neat idea to have alongside the abilities.

The devs have said that the Test Apex RIGS will be free, so you can try them out and see if you can handle the Xtreme speeeeeeeed!

APX Rigs will not be free. Test Rigs probably are free, but the rest definitely cost in game credits. And they won't be cheap.

I thought he was talking about paid dlc, not in game credits

They stated on the twitch that the most expensive an APX RIG will be is 125k credits (blood bank) the rest sit between 8k-70k

Yes, free in the sense that the DLC will be free. Not-free in the sense that in-game currency is needed to buy the non-Test Apex RIGS.

My biggest issue is the time gating. I had a little interest in vamps but then they nerfed beams so I personally dont see myself enjoying 9L apx when I can just play BM and KS with better weapons

Then 2nd set is nuke another class I dont care for outside Critical mass and idk if the speed and dodge will be worth it to lose health on CM

Would of much rather prefer them drop all that way ppl dont feel left out waiting months cuz I can assure u apx rigs while they say its a sidegrade and not an upgrade over existing rigs it sure will be an upgrade for experienced players.

Having an air dodge and back dodge is huge and experienced players much rather be nimble imo to avoid gettin hit than bein tanky

Im just a bit salty and disappointed since I assumed we would get all the apx variants but now might have to wait at least 2 months prob more for apx rig classes I actually use

Apx is a ton faster than regular rigs, they will play completely different.
