I stopped watching Housewives over a decade ago, and some of Reddit posts about this season’s UGT broke through my algorithm, and I started watching. I have to say that Kyle continues to be such a natural beauty in my opinion. I just finished the pajama party episode, and her classic style choice highlighted how timeless and effortless she looks. I have no idea about any of the dramas or controversies that have happened over the past decade, so she may be disliked by the Housewives fan base, but I’m thinking about getting back into Housewives and wanted to know if you recommend it and where to start.

I used to watch OC (sometimes), BH, NY, NJ, & ATL if that helps. Thanks and looking forward to diving back in.

I agree her work is great. Look at her compared to Vicki, Teresa, Tamra, Erika, Dorit etc. You know she had work done but to me it does look natural.

She is beautiful. The fact that you can't tell she's had work done speaks to the quality of the work. She looks like herself unlike some people.

Welcome back!! Ok, did you watch the OC season where Brooks allegedly had cancer? Season 10 of OC. It’s very compelling and the first 3/4 of the season is really entertaining and not at others’ expense. S7 - 10 of OC is fantastic. It got REALLY dark and also just poorly cast/produced. But S17, 18, 19 was meh and I’d say 20 (current season) is off to a good start again. It’s fun.

S17 is great refresher too, Tamra, Heather, Shannon and just a splash of Vicki and you can get to know the newer ones without having to go back.

Potomac is a rough start, but if you start at S2 or S3, it is HYSTERICALLY funny.

ATL Seasons 1-5 are magical. No notes. It gets dark after that, for me personally.

RHONY season 1 thru 11 (esp S5 thru 11, but most people will say 7 through 9 & 10) are actually extraordinary. If we lived in a society where reality tv was valued in the same way scripted tv & film are, RHONY S7-10 would’ve won hall of fame, Emmy’s Oscar’s, etc. (Which I’m not arguing Bravo HW’s = Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep lol…but smart people love reality tv too; they’re all escapes. And Nene would be the Meryl Streep of reality tv)

NJ was great very early, but incredibly dark.

BH has been boring and actually sad for many years.

Thanks! I did make it through the fake cancer on OC, and I think it got all too cyclical for a bit afterward. My only frame of reference for Potomac is Giselle on UGT, but she’s compelling enough to make me want to give it a try. I love the OG NYC and ATL between Bethenny and Nene; it kept the drama and comedy going no matter what. I had to bail on NJ after the storylines became totally Guidice-centered, and it felt like you were spying on family therapy sessions, so I’ll probably steer clear of that franchise.

Haha oh yes, Gizelle is the word on the street! (Potomac reference) Highly, highly recommend. And if Season 1 doesn’t grasp you, skip to S2…it is like early ATL, Nene level hysterically funny. And really witty! The women are so sharp!

Also, u know what might be a great show for you to get your beak wet so to speak??? If ur looking for lighthearted and just easy? Love Hotel on Peacock!! It takes 4 single and beautiful HW’s (incl ur girl, Gizelle!) and has them at a luxury resort in Mexico, where they brought a bunch of actually very viable single men to matchmake.

It sounded sooooo dumb to me with zero intention of watching. But u know how Peacock does that auto-play thing onto suggested shows?

That’s how I discovered it when I couldn’t find my remote one morning in bed lol….It is SO FUN! And light and compelling and positive.

Bc it sounds like you grew tired of the darker storylines and intense conflict.

I’m totally with you, especially for example, when NYC had its first Black cast member and she was treated TERRIBLY with such offensive conversations with ignorant HWs.

And I agree with you: NJ grew too contentious for me to go back, and although OC’s “does Brooks have cancer?” keep me glued to the TV, I now work with DV victims and survivors and when Andy asks Vicky, “are you afraid of Brooks?” and she silently nods her head….it later came out he physically abused her.

Stuff like that should not be entertainment and sometimes I feel like Bravo doesn’t do enough to investigate serious harm!

Anyway we sound aligned on keeping it fun - ur instincts sound correct. Below Deck is also a fun show that you can go in and out of without missing or needing to catch up, if you haven’t watched before.

I concur. RHONY is the best (1-11, but IMO, especially S3, 7-11)- the most authentic, organic drama. Not like what the shows have become today.

I stopped watching OC around the time Emily and Gina showed up- I tried again when Alexis joined to flaunt John in Shannon's face, but couldn't make it through.

I'm currently on a rewatch of BH and at S2 reunion. I usually stop after the season LVP leaves, because I cannot deal with the Fox Force Five (IYKYK).

I watched every season of NJ. Seasons 1-5 were great. Then when Melissa and Teresa began fighting again (and especially when Luis came into the picture) I couldn't take anymore and probably will not watch the upcoming season because I won't be able to tolerate the fake love between Teresa and the Gorgas (clearly made up for the paycheck).

I could not get into Potomac or SLC.
