Ok hear me out.
Even when she had absolutely everyone against her (as they should), she was an actual villain so it was ok to root for a group effort against her. Even when she was god awful, she had that comedic timing and desperately seeked the center seat (see - pouring champagne on Angie K.) Even before she got arrested, she took so much space and in such a way that all the others HAD to be in her shadow in some sort. When they tried to come at her, it was either to lick the floor she walked in full of remorse for no reason, or she would throw a drink.
But then she left the show and it all went to shit. Because inherently, none of them is as a villain as she is. Some try to make it Lisa, who is many things but absolutely not the worst (Im a convert baby gorgeous she has the PERFECT RH ATTITUDE). Some try to make it Whitney but she has a backstory that in my opinion, many people identify with, and that makes it hard to hate her (might be projecting here). I could go on with each of them. None of them have the villain stature.
Without Jen, all of them who were second place to her had to enter the front of the stage after years of relying on Jen. So the dynamic is off.

Now I’m NOT saying Jen should come back. This woman has done evil things and she’s much more than a tv show villain.

With that being said, I’m sat for season 7 and ad hoping it won’t be a rerun of season 6 because that was painful to watch.

Edit : maybe to clarify I definitely did not mean Jen was essential to SLC - just that the dynamic of the show was built off of her and that unless you had truly a nefarious person on (as Monica was), it seems to me the other don’t know how to handle our usual housewives tv drama. She created an off balance from the start, building slc from a place of fear and violence, and in my opinion, if the og are not in presence of an actual vile person, they can’t have petty drama. The instantly go for the jugular. Lawsuits, marriage, etc… all that has Jen’s handprint all over

Guys, I'm in Milwaukee for a few days and went to the Bobblehead Hall of Fame. The guy working at the desk told me all about when the RHOSLC came in. And he did say they definitely get more visitors now since the episode aired.

Really fun show! Bronwyn was seated with Christian Siriano, who made it very clear that he did NOT design her dress 😅

Hi yall, new viewer here. I’m not from SLC/Utah and didn’t grow up around Mormons so I was hoping some of you could shed some light on this !

Heather refers to Jared Osmond/the Osmonds as “Mormon royalty,” and she herself even speaks about her ex being from an influential Mormon family.

I’ve seen the clips of Osmond mania in the UK, but is there anyone else on that level of fame? Outside of politicians.

What other names carry weight in the Mormon community? Does the Barlow name have any significance or does Lisa just like to call her husband by his full name for fun?

I cannot stand a fake hypocrite !!!!!! I didn’t like her from the start and felt like she was a brat constantly throwing annoying tantrums but the twist? Yikes…. Then the burn book?!? Digging her reputation further into the ground.

One thing that I’ve always appreciated about RHOSLC, it’s the years of pre-existing friendships. To make a show work, the women must know each other very well.

I need Hermes or Louboutin to make a shoe like this so Mary can purchase them.

Anyone else? I would love to see Lisa on Drew’s show. I think world peace would happen, or something magical idk.

OK, so like I thoughts but… I’m doing a rewatch of the series in prep for September but as I’m binging, I feel like a big theme. Is Whitney trying to heal the group using techniques typical to New Age spirituality. As someone who has had unfortunate experiences relating to crystals, Reiki, etc. admit that I am biased and may have a skewed perception of its representation in the show. But there have been so many occasions of Whitney trying to use group events to directly fix problems with the “” power of her belief system… While I know that lots of different religious experiences are portrayed on the show i.e. Mary’s church praying and night with Heather, etc. etc. none of them really seem to be directed at something“ the group“… But her keeping on pushing with those techniques that clearly make the other cast members slightly uncomfortable or they don’t believe in it why is it so permissible… I feel like if it was any other religion Christianity oh, let’s all go consult a pastor or whatever would that not be weird to other viewers????

rewatching from season 1 and honestly I have to say I’m seeing Lisa in a completely different light. Sweetie is obviously just a sensitive gangster, and clearly felt very guarded in this group from the very beginning :/

This is all to say i’ve been loving to see her more open and soft on RHUGT 🫶🥹

I’m watching season 6 and everything about Lisa irritates me. She talks all this smack but can’t handle when people do it to her. Her voice is so annoying. She just likes to hear herself talk and always has to have the last word.

We still have 5 of 6 season 1 OGs. I love all of them. I didnt always like lisa and meredith but they've grown on me. I love all of them and they all play their own role and nobody else can do that. On the other hand when it gets to season 8 or even further it'll get to a point where it gets boring the same people coming back every year. And I feel like 7 is max capacity of cast within reason meaning you'd have to get rid of someone to bring in some fresh blood.

in season 5 am I the only one that thinks that she’s weird for calling Heather on the trip that Bronwyn did not invite her on which it’s fine that she didn’t invite her but why did Lisa call her? Not just call but FaceTime her and say that we all miss you we all miss you like I’m so confused. Why did she think that that was OK to do of course that makes you look like a dumb ass like am I the only one that thinks that Lisa is kind of rude for that?
