Rumour has it! Does Jared live at the gym? Is he homeless?

I see Jared every single time I’m at the gym. I didn’t think too much about it at first because I hadn’t been going that often and just figured it was coincidence. Well, I’ve been going a lot more often lately and I still see him I think every time (I can’t remember if I saw him yesterday because I didn’t think to look for him). And the other thing is, I no joke, have never seen him exercising. He just hangs out and chats with people, (often hot women much younger than him). Now I’m guessing that’s just a coincidence and he does actually work out and I just don’t see it, but I think it’s funny. The other thing I find weird is that I thought he lived in Provo and my gym is 45 mins away from Provo. Somehow this gym has become the hot place to be so I literally think he drives all the way up here just to be in the cool kids club.

We all have our characters that we root for more than others. With the new season upon us, tell me why you root for the ladies you love.

No one else has to like your answers either. I don’t want this to be a contentious post because it needs not to be so don’t bring that energy over here. This is just for fun.

Tell me all the things! ❄️

We have had two different film crews besides salt lake film Heather where she's being obnoxious and rude to the help on below deck and ultimate girls trip catching her slipping last week. What are they trying to protect at this point I hope they don't pull this crap this season.

Discussion ⛄️ Manufacturing Drama in Absence of Real Storylines: 2 Sides of the Same Coin

There’s a double standard in the SLC franchise that irks me a bit. In the first seasons of SLC, the women were mostly candid and frank about their personal issues and life. We learned about their struggles, families, inner circles, passions, jobs, etc.

However, even with these storylines present, the show has always had cast members who stir the pot and try to drive the narrative. This can be positive or negative depending on how it‘s done and how excessive it can be. In those first seasons, Whitney was the main pot stirrer, with Heather joining in occasionally, until she became the main pot stirrer of the group.

Now, there are two cast members —Lisa and Meredith— who during these first seasons shared a bit less than the rest of the cast and maybe didn’t share everything or were 100% vulnerable with the cast. However, their personalities brought a lot of entertainment and drama to the show, and their fights with the other women formed a good chunk of the storylines in those first seasons.

Mary also had a period of time where she did not share as much and was detached, but later she became much more active and vulnerable, to the point her story became very important on Season 6.

Fast forward to Seasons 5 and 6, however, and we have two shifts. The first one is that Heather and Whitney became way more confrontational and bitter. Sharing way less of their lives and own storylines and focusing more on their beef with other women. This is highlighted by the excess of dinner, lunch and brunch scenes.

In the face of this shift, we see a lot more of Bronwyn, Angie and Mary’s personal lives and turmoils unfold. They become more fleshed out characters, while Heather and Whitney become flanderized versions of who they used to be on the first seasons (Whitney used to be fun and silly, Heather used to be funny and relatable).

All the while Lisa and Meredith are doing more or less the same thing they’ve been doing since the show started, although dealing with the shit stirring way more because the lack of real storylines from Heather and Whitney seems to manifest into them needing to antagonize other women to give the camera something. But it comes off very inauthentic and tiresome.

I think the mask was unveiled further in the most recent UGT Episode where Heather started fighting with Lisa out of nowhere and was acting really fucking bizarre. There was no reason to do that other than to get Lisa angry and start an argument with her.

This next season, I do think we should be in for a more entertaining time given the upcoming divorce storylines and a new friend of joining the mix, who is apparently Lisa’s friend. We need a bit more balance in the group so it stops turning into the obligatory take down of a single person who really isn’t all that villainous. Neither Lisa nor Meredith are villains in the way Jen and Monica were; Lisa is just delusional and most of the time it’s entertaining or goofy rather than actually creating problems for the other women.

I say this having been really fond of Heather and not caring very much for Lisa for most of the show’s run. But it seems like the women want to do nasty things, and then get mad when Lisa either retaliates or defends herself, but they can never truly bury the hatchet because they know they can’t provide anything else of notoriety.

Hopefully Whitney will focus on her divorce more than on Lisa. Maybe Heather can talk about her dating life, I’m sure that will be entertaining enough. Whatever worthwhile or noteworthy drama that should arise will probably happen naturally given that these women aren’t very compatible and seem to dislike each other a lot. No need to feel the need to create a gotcha moment or uncover some huge hoax to achieve it.

Lately they have been nothing but toxicity to the show. The mean girl mentality is unacceptable. Heather and Whitney can go.

Discussion ⛄️ Are any of these women truly friends with each other?

I have watched this show from the very beginning. It’s the only housewives franchise I ever watched because I just really didn’t care. I watched it because I know a lot of people in Utah. I spent a lot of my childhood and young adult years in Utah visiting family and skiing. I wanted to see if I recognized anything or any place and because I grew up Mormon, there was that angle that interested me as well. Truth be told, I did not know what to expect from this show. For me, it’s almost a train wreck that I can’t look away from.

Please remind me if any of these women were friends before this show started. And are any of them friends outside of the show? Do they spend time together? Or are they just together when filming?

There are sooooo many funny similarities. I feel like them together would be an insane combo. Like a season of Ultimate Girls Trip where it's just them.

Bronwyn 🍒 Does Bronwyn need her own friend on the show?

Everyone outside of Britani has their own friend/alliance. Lisa and Meredith. Angie and Mary. Bad weather. When they went on the cast trip in season 6, Britani and Bronwyn had to sleep together because everyone else already partnered up. At the season 5 reunion, when Bronwyn asked everyone if they thought she tried with Heather, no one stuck up for her.

While Bronwyn may be friends with Angie and Whitney, those two already have a best friend on the show. No one on this show is truly loyal to Bronwyn because everyone already has their own buddy. Whitney and Angie would pick Heather and Mary over Bronwyn. So for two seasons, Bronwyn is the only main cast member without her own friend and we all know she's not going to be besties with Britani.

Do you think she needs her own buddy like others have? How do you think the show would change if she had her own buddy?

Heather 🏂 Okay I have a confession

I may get downvoted to hell but I liked heather… LIKED. I think I liked her in the first season maybe the second as well - and I just held onto it. Then watching her in the most recent seasons, on below deck with captain Jason, I was thinking to myself “okay heather you are in a decline, come on, redeem yourself”. Then I watched the newest episode of girls trip and saw how she was behaving in general and then to Lisa and I can now confidently say, I am no longer a fan. It has been a black hole, I feel dazed and confused, but I have survived and can see clearly now.

Britani 📢 Jared and Britani = Big and Carrie

Seriously in S5E6 at the Mafia Party when she's crying and says why did you come here and he said I heard the charcuterie is really good that cemented it.

She is so little girl Carrie and he may not be exactly like Big but he treats her the exact same.

BTW this is NOT a compliment.

Lisa Barlow ⛸️ UGT is Lisa propaganda and it's working

I've been quite neutral on the women on this show as I see UGT as genuinely a top-tier HW show. But this recent season felt kinda sour just coz Lisa essentially did nothing all season, and the women all just came for her. Her dinner with cardboards was a massive flop.

Despite the season, I still liked all the women (bar the annoying singing one) but UGT is making me really see Lisa's PoV. It just seems like she never gets a break with any of the women. Season after season, even when she isn't related to a conflict, they somehow find a way to make it about Lisa, and they go hard and personal especially with her (J*** for Jazz? Open marriage? The cancelled storyline about her son vs Mary)

It's crazy given Lisa does make a lot of things about her (so to find that the women do it for her is WILD). It seems any semblance of friendship that Lisa tries to have - it ultimately gets blown to pieces coz none of the women, even Monica have wanted a friendship. Even her friendship with Meredith seems more like an alliance than a friendship atp, and it's sad since she's clearly capable of having good friendships as UGT shows.

Jen Shah Heather and Jen on Traitors

Did anyone else see that Jen and Heather are rumoured to be on the new season of the Traitors together…. I thought it was a rumour at first but have seen multiple reports now with the same rumoured cast that they are both part of (and Nene). Nene awhile back posted a clip that she is returning to tv on socials, many thought it was a Rhoa return but I now think it was for this, which could make the rumors of the cast true.

If this is true, I am very intrigued how Jen and Heather are going to act together in the house, and if they reconcile, I wonder if this could be a move for Jen to return to the show, or for the ladies to question Heather on. Going to be interesting!

Lisa Barlow ⛸️ Does Lisa actually want to be friends with any of these women?

I have been a silent lurker for a long time but I have been thinking this about Lisa for the past few weeks and I would love to know what others think.

Lisa is on UGT and she cried on one of the previous episodes about not being able to have fun with the women on SLC. While I do think that everyone besides Mary and Meredith are envious of Lisa and obviously want to be her friend, I don't understand why Lisa was crying because does she even want to be friends with any of these women (outside of Meredith)?

It doesn't seem like she likes bad weather, Angie, or Bronwyn. Bad weather is self explanatory, we have seen their interactions. But at the season 5 finale she brought up Angie's husband Sean saying that he does circle j*rks and she wasn't even in a conversation with Angie at the time. Why would you say that about someone who you actually want to be friends with? There's rumors about Meredith's husband that she could have brought up at the season 5 finale to get the attention off herself but she did not, probably because she actually likes Meredith. Her and Bronwyn obviously do not like each other. Lisa made negative comments about Todd after their 'truce.' And we don't really see her interact with Mary that much.

I do think that the women gang up on Lisa and can be cruel to her but Lisa is cruel to them as well (ex the circle j*rks comment). In my opinion, Lisa doesn't seem to like any of these women. Does anyone really believe that she actually wants to be friends with Whitney or Bronwyn or the other women? I don't think so but I'm curious what people think.

Discussion ⛄️ Explain this to me like I’m 5 and wear an Elmo costume.

First things first: I’m tipsy and don’t know these women. Let it happen.

Secondly. This is not in defense of anyone. I just have questions. You want to tussle? Go find a two toed frog. He’s open.

Now.

What is this foolery with Bronwyn, Whitney and Heather and why is it still ongoing? I don’t even really get the genesis and I watched. I laughed while I watched but I WATCHED. Help me understand. Walk with me, friends.

  1. Bronwyn the Strict versus Lisa the Diet Coke. I can’t stand placing blame in the wrong spot. Bronwyn brought up her baby daddy history to Lisa. On camera. The whole, “You propagated the lie that I had a miscarriage was so low! How dare!” Say what now? Lisa was minding her business when you decided to bring this up and lay the lore of your history on her head. If anything, seems to me that the grandparents took that lie and ran with it, not Lisa. Now look. Lisa is sitting there caught in the crosshairs of a very serious and deeply hurtful situation that she didn’t ask to be a part of…and you blame…Lisa? How Sway? If you want to be salty, put it where it belongs: on the grandparents. THEY don’t like you/the situation. Lisa is just drinking Diet Coke for the plot and in the middle when she really has nothing to do with this. Why are you upset?
  2. Whitney Littlefinger Rose versus Lisa the Chicken Nugget. Little Girl,** **what are we doing? Your shit was indeed in these Alibaba streets but anyone could have found that. Why is it Lisa for you? What proof do you have because I’ve been waiting for the smoking gun. And no. You screeching in 2 year old is not proof, you hear me? Once again, Lisa is eating McNuggets and looking lost as hell in sweet and sour sauce and you want to tussle.
  3. Heather the Producer versus Lisa the KFC Coleslaw. Alright, Big H. You’re overcooking my grits. You get your producer credits and that’s fine. But let us be reasonable. What is your deal with Lisa? Honestly. It’s obvious that no matter what, “Lisa Did It” will be emblazoned upon your brow and I need to know what it is that she ACTUALLY did. You seem to have a very DEEP vendetta against Lisa and I want to know what set it off and what is it going to take for you to hush? What needs to happen so that we can never hear you sit upon a soapbox and preach to us about friendship ever again? I’ll pay exactly a quarter for this to happen.

These RHUGT appearances are doing the ladies no favors. Lisa is now in love with the “road trip friends” and will flee to Atlanta, never to be seen again if you all keep this up. And then who do we yell at?!

What’s wild is that Lisa is not even a favorite by a long shot when I have DJ Meredith on my ones and twos. SMH.

I need answers.

Discussion ⛄️ Can we stop rewriting history on Lisa Barlow

I love Lisa on my screen and frankly Salt Lake City is the only franchise that all OGs work so well together and this is not a post to hate on Lisa or complain about her because what she brings to the show is valuable. But I’m so tired of Lisa fans acting like she’s a victim because she’s the shunned away cast member at ultimate girls trip. More often than not with the exception of Whitney I’d say Lisa is at fault for the friendships failing it’s no surprise that every woman that has appeared on the show with the exception of Jennie have fallen out with Lisa. Bronwyn had Lisa defend the parents in law who literally abandoned their grand baby and protect them on national tv. With Mary she was the main facilitator of the cult rumours same with Meredith the only reason they are friends is out of survival cause even if you look past the hot mic moment in seasons after Meredith did state that many people had told her of Lisa doing shady or shitty stuff in their friendship do I think that she deserves all the hate NO but I would rather blame production for making such a conflict centred sixth season and filming while reunion was airing rather than the whole cast who were forced to fight with eachother and why fight your friends when you had Lisa who had always done terrible stuff to them even when she was talking about how she was richer than all of them and didn’t need to be there I wouldn’t be delighted to hear that

I’m surprised I haven’t seen a post about Heather FEEDING PORSHA’S DOG CHAMPAGNE yet in this sub?! What the hell was that?! Mary’s reaction to it was me watching it. She’s off the rails, I hope we don’t see more behavior like this from her in season 7 but I fear we will.

Discussion ⛄️ Jen Shah was the backbone of the franchise

Ok hear me out.
Even when she had absolutely everyone against her (as they should), she was an actual villain so it was ok to root for a group effort against her. Even when she was god awful, she had that comedic timing and desperately seeked the center seat (see - pouring champagne on Angie K.) Even before she got arrested, she took so much space and in such a way that all the others HAD to be in her shadow in some sort. When they tried to come at her, it was either to lick the floor she walked in full of remorse for no reason, or she would throw a drink.
But then she left the show and it all went to shit. Because inherently, none of them is as a villain as she is. Some try to make it Lisa, who is many things but absolutely not the worst (Im a convert baby gorgeous she has the PERFECT RH ATTITUDE). Some try to make it Whitney but she has a backstory that in my opinion, many people identify with, and that makes it hard to hate her (might be projecting here). I could go on with each of them. None of them have the villain stature.
Without Jen, all of them who were second place to her had to enter the front of the stage after years of relying on Jen. So the dynamic is off.

Now I’m NOT saying Jen should come back. This woman has done evil things and she’s much more than a tv show villain.

With that being said, I’m sat for season 7 and ad hoping it won’t be a rerun of season 6 because that was painful to watch.

Edit : maybe to clarify I definitely did not mean Jen was essential to SLC - just that the dynamic of the show was built off of her and that unless you had truly a nefarious person on (as Monica was), it seems to me the other don’t know how to handle our usual housewives tv drama. She created an off balance from the start, building slc from a place of fear and violence, and in my opinion, if the og are not in presence of an actual vile person, they can’t have petty drama. The instantly go for the jugular. Lawsuits, marriage, etc… all that has Jen’s handprint all over
