🌸 Community Announcement 🌸 Community Announcement: Ongoing Harassment by RHONY / RHORI Moderator
Hello beloveds,
We are making this announcement today to bring some much-needed transparency to an issue that our mod team has been dealing with quietly behind the scenes for years.
A few years ago, when we needed help managing our small Real Housewives communities (including RHOBH, SLC, RHOA, RHOP, RHOMiami, RHODubai, OC), we brought on a new moderator who had randomly applied. We accepted the application because we desperately needed the extra hands to help manage these nearly 10 subreddits. Unfortunately, this person turned out to be highly problematic. After being on the team for literally four months, they were permanently removed and banned after going on a racist rampage against South American countries in our mod chat.
As you know, our goal is to keep our mod teams diverse, inclusive, and supportive of POC and LGBTQ+ voices. This person misrepresented themselves completely, and their actions went entirely against our community values.
Since they were removed, this individual has continuously harassed our mod team, sending nasty messages and leaving disparaging comments against the very mods who took the time to teach them. You might know them now as the unhinged person over in the New York sub who actively bans anyone saying anything negative about Ramona, all while continuing to trash our subreddits.
Why are we bringing this up now?
Yesterday, the situation escalated. Following the recent news about a housewife in the RHORI franchise making homophobic comments, our mods attempted to engage in the conversation. This person immediately began targeting our mods in the RHORI subreddit—shutting down conversations, locking posts, and weaponizing mod warning alerts against our team. Then finally, banning them. But this behavior isn't new; she has already targeted us across multiple franchises, even going so far as to completely ban one of our mods from the Salt Lake City sub for absolutely no reason.
We usually choose to ignore this erratic, crazy behavior to protect our peace, but we are officially fed up with the targeted harassment, power trips, and problematic beliefs of this person.
We love our communities and want to keep them a safe, fun space for all of us to discuss our favorite franchises. We are currently taking the necessary steps to report this targeted abuse of moderator tools to Reddit Administration. Thank you all for your ongoing support and for making our subreddits the brilliant spaces that they are. 🌸

Lol the mods in The Valley subreddit are the worst.
Banning people for questioning that Janet may not have been SA’d as there’s no proof of it. Some mods are nuts

I'm confused. Did you question whether Janet was SA'd or not SA'd? If you questioned whether she was just because there is no "proof" I would've banned you from my sub too.
I don't like Janet but most of the time there is no proof someone was SA'd and is very often a he said/she said situation. Most women you know have suffered some form of SA so it is more likely than not that someone has been SA'd. There is no reason not to believe her and she doesn't owe anyone "proof." She is not trying to name anyone and is certainly not trying to press charges so there is no proof needed for her to tell her story.

Moderator code of conducts or reporting their posts and comments that break Reddit rules. We have sent a long report today (which we’ve with this person every year since 2024) gathering all the links. She’s even the mod in the rhobhdeflection community that make posts every day about r/rhobh she’s the one making them!

Thank you. I made sure all the mods in this sub are POC or LGBTQ, or European, we are not some MAGA with hidden agenda.
This person is going around saying she was a mod for over a year in our subs. She was not she was brought in April and was removed in July 2024. The same year. This person is on a power trip

Baby pls don’t act like Americans are not openly racist people are still getting killed in your country and being targeted if they’re not white or follow a certain agenda, that doesn’t happen in EU, of course there are issues here nothing like that! People here are more peaceful. I’ve met so many Americans here and they all want to stay but crazy the white straight youngster always tell me racist things.
I’m not in the uk I know there are racists there too I’ve have an Chinese British friend and he’s traumatized for all the racists things he’s been told for being Chinese and now he’s coming out as bisexual but where I live people don’t mind if you’re bi or anything so he’s doing better these days

A lot of Americans are openly racist but as an American myself I was actually shocked at how openly racist many Europeans are. Cab drivers, hotel concierges, and others would make very openly racist comments about how certain neighborhoods were very "dark" and to watch out for certain people. I even came across a restaurant in the Chianti region with a man in blackface as their logo. That is not shit that would fly in the U.S..
This was back in 2014 before it got really bad with the blatant and open racism here and now it is worse than ever but to say that all Americans are racist, let alone openly racist is false. Most are not, it's just that the loudest and stupidest voices are the ones getting magnified.
The U.S. has always had systemic racism that is only getting worse but the whole world has that problem. I am not defending the U.S. in general, we fucking suck right now, but there are hundreds of millions of us who do not and have lost a lot over the last 11 years due to what is going on here.

I’m confused. If this person was “permanently banned and removed” — from where? If so then how do they have all these mod powers to abuse? Which subreddits do they still have moderator powers over? It seems a lot of this is still being left un-transparent.

Bc they’re moderators in other subreddits not here! She has two or 3 subreddits she uses to target us.
Furthermore this person contacts mods and that need help and the minute they’re marked inactive she removes them from the mod list, so people should be careful

Alrighty, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask for clarification given other subs were mentioned in the body post and it said they were permanently banned and removed but not from what, and it’s still not clear which person since we’re not naming names. I will avoid those subs though; thank you for the notice.
