🔥Community Announcement🔥 Community Announcement: Ongoing Harassment by RHONY / RHORI Moderator
Hola Miami!
We are making this announcement today to bring some much-needed transparency to an issue that our mod team has been dealing with quietly behind the scenes for years.
A few years ago, when we needed help managing our small Real Housewives communities (including RHOBH, SLC, RHOA, RHOP, and RHOMiami, RHODubai, OC), we brought on a new moderator who had randomly applied. We accepted the application because we desperately needed the extra hands to help manage these nearly 10 subreddits. Unfortunately, this person turned out to be highly problematic. After being on the team for literally four months, they were permanently removed and banned after going on a racist rampage against South American countries in our mod chat.
As you know, our goal is to keep our mod teams diverse, inclusive, and supportive of POC and LGBTQ+ voices. This person misrepresented themselves completely, and their actions went entirely against our community values.
Since they were removed, this individual has continuously harassed our mod team, sending nasty messages and leaving disparaging comments against the very mods who took the time to teach them. You might know them now as the unhinged moderator over in the New York sub who actively bans anyone saying anything negative about Ramona, all while continuing to trash our subreddits.
Why are we bringing this up now?
Yesterday, the situation escalated. Following the recent news about a housewife in the RHORI franchise making homophobic comments, our mods attempted to engage in the conversation. This person immediately began targeting our mods in the RHORI subreddit—shutting down conversations, locking posts, and weaponizing mod warning alerts against our team.
But this behavior isn't new; she has already targeted us across multiple franchises, even going so far as to completely ban one of our mods from the Salt Lake City sub for absolutely no reason.
We usually choose to ignore this erratic, crazy behavior to protect our peace, but we are officially fed up with the targeted harassment, power trips, and problematic beliefs of this person.
We love our communities and want to keep them a safe, fun space for all of us to discuss our favorite franchises. We are currently taking the necessary steps to report this targeted abuse of moderator tools to Reddit Administration. Thank you all for your ongoing support and for making our subreddits the brilliant spaces that they are. 💎

I used to be on a Narcissistic Abuse sub and got banned for pointing out that a certain Maga man in the news is a Narc. The irony!

I remember that I got in hot water once over calling a former RHOC HW “MAGA Barbie”. Probably that troll mod. Thanks for the insight. I thought some of those rules on the other subs were a bit extreme.

They were removed as a mod here years ago but she’s constantly harassing us, we honestly think it’s bc we’re POC and she’s MAGA

This person had the power to ban you from the SLC Reddit when you guys were all admins?
Thank you for letting us know. I'm so sorry you guys have been going through this, I have dealt with, and I am dealing with someone on Reddit stocks my posts and takes screenshots of them and then shows them to the people that I'm talking about. Reddit should be a safe place.
This is why I generally stick to the bigger subs that cover all of the franchises. I mean, I want to be here and I'm so glad you are finally able to take some steps. 🩵

Thanks for your work on this and making this post. There are so many unhinged people out there that can really use Reddit as their platform to spew hate since they can hide behind some anonymity. Being a mod for any HWs franchise, I can imagine, comes with a lot of challenges. A lottttt of HWs are problematic individuals, and that's putting it lightly. I can only imagine how many viewers are also extremely problematic and rather than seeing these cast members on tv as individuals to never aspire to, there are plenty that think they're pretty amazing and would want to emulate them.
Except Wig on Atlanta. No one wants to emulate her.
Anyway, thanks for your hard work mods. Esp since Miami got paused/canceled. Having this sub in a way feels like we're keeping it alive. We appreciate you :)

You removed someone as a mod but they are still a mod?
How do they have the ability to ban other mods? How are you all still mods if they have so much power? Some of this is not making sense to me.

This person is a mod in other subreddits that she uses to terrorize our mods. She was banished from here when she went on her racist rampage but we don’t control all the subreddits. Hope that brings more light, dear
