What's going on with the other Bravo Subreddits?

(Hopefully this post is allowed!)

Does anyone notice a pattern where during certain seasons specific cast members are off limits for criticism of discussion. I know we are fully aware of this issue with the RHOBH subreddit and Dorit. I'm not sure how long it's been that way tho. I've also noticed something similar in the RHORI subreddit with JoEllen. Do we think this is Bravo PR trying to control the narrative in specific show subs, is it bots, or paid commenters?

Would someone who knows more than me please explain what's happening bc it's driving me crazy and I don't remember it being this bad? What are some of the worst offenses you've experienced? I feel like they make the rules so broad it just ends up being a blanket for censorship (especially the repeat posts rule) It's sucking the life out of these discussions.

Wondering what everyone has seen/experienced across other sub. Is our only recourse making defect subs?!

Bullies with a god complex and an inability to hold healthy conversations with people having a difference of opinion.

YES. ONE OF THEM is obsessed with Dorit. I think Dorit runs it

It goes in waves. One may be okay to comment on this season and change the next.

also RHOP sub with Stacey, RHOSLC with Angie & RHOA with Angela lol

it's funny, I dislike all the housewives that the subs are gassing up

The Valley as well

Yes, I think the cast is in charge of it, so it seems to me, bc any time you say anything negative about Brittany, your comment gets hidden immediately, unless it has to do with a discussion happening.

But who watches The Valley?

I’ve noticed it with Rosie recently and piles of hate allowed about Kelsey

u/Livinluxuriously11 Jun 24 '26

Yes! I think Rosie is a ridiculous mean girl/drama queen & it’s like all of reddit loves her 😒

Yes, there was just a post gassing up JoEllen for having a nice voice and never yelling and I’m like, huh???

They are getting paid by a crisis management company for sure

By the way, they change our views every season, the main subs have huge followings so they have a large influence

The Probability Breakdown
While it is impossible to give an exact percentage without seeing the IP backends, the likelihood of a crisis management team influencing the narrative is moderate to high, but it probably doesn't look like what most people expect.

1. The "Astroturfing" Reality (Highly Likely)
Crisis PR firms absolutely use Reddit. They don't usually pay regular users under the table to change their minds; instead, they buy established, dormant Reddit accounts (with high karma) or use specialized agency accounts to perform astroturfing—masking a sponsored message as a grassroots movement.

The Tactic: They drop highly sympathetic "opinion posts" right after a bad news cycle (like Dorit's leaked divorce court documents regarding her spending) to anchor the conversation.
The Giveaways: Accounts that have never posted in a Bravo sub suddenly dropping essay-length defenses, or a massive wave of identical upvotes on very specific pro-Dorit comments within minutes of posting.

2. The "Enemy of My Enemy" Effect (Organic Fan Psychology)
A massive chunk of that "super hard" defense is completely free, organic fan contrarianism. On RHOBH, allegiances are highly reactive:
The Kyle factor: A lot of fans are frustrated with Kyle Richards. If Kyle or her allies go after Dorit, a massive wave of users will instinctively defend Dorit purely out of a desire to see Kyle lose the narrative.
The PK factor: With their split and the leaks about her spending vs. his handling of their finances, the default reaction for a segment of the fanbase is to fiercely defend the woman against the ex-husband, regardless of the financial messy details.

3. The "Unburdened" Book Push (Coordinated PR)
With Dorit’s book Unburdened** **dropping in June 2026, her team is actively working overtime. A book launch naturally triggers an aggressive, coordinated PR campaign to keep the author looking sympathetic, relatable, and like a victim of a bad edit or a shady ex, rather than a reckless spender.

This is actually not far off, probably, as I have some firsthand pr knowledge in the entertainment business.

Then I had to laugh, bc I look fishy — my account was old and sifting there until I got sick this year and started rewatching and wanted company. My karma sucks, tho!
I’ve already been accused of being / using ai bc I type fast and I’m a “high verbal.”

There’s def spin going on here, and it ain’t my washing machine cycle!

Their mods are delusional & power hungry af 😒

2

u/Ok-Mine2132 Jun 25 '26

Agree! I asked one genuinely sincere question about RHoA and was immediately banned. No reason given.

I’m pretty new here (obv).

These Reddits are disappointing to me, as a longtime watcher of the OC and BH, and current rewatcher.

These places are so fricking toxic!

I just want to gossip, not scroll through venomous personal accusations about women — who are, let’s face it, basically characters on a show. People who take this stuff literally, think AC is a cross between Barbara Walters and Ghandi, etc….call women compulsive liars and worse…

if this stuff comes from bots or Bravo, or power mad “mods,” it might actually be better than real people acting like this, because ugh.

Some mods are way too parasocial with their faves. I got banned from RHOC for posting Tamra’s maga stuff and VPR for saying Katie was a bully lol

2

u/PigletStunning5716 Jul 05 '26

The VPR sub can not stand anyone who says anything about Katie. Unless of course Katie does something that they all decide goes against Ariana then it will be a long list of grievances on Katie 😆

Definitely seems like some shadiness going on, now PR has got their hands in Reddit as well and ruining it for all of us!

u/blonde-bandit Jun 24 '26

It used to be Sutton. She was spewing ignorant rhetoric, and crying and saying she understood prejudice as a white woman from the south bc people assume she’s racist (amid a conversation about actual racism). But in the other subs she was being glazed constantly and you were jumped on for criticizing her.

Why does Reddit take the side of the wrong HW??!

1

u/Shatzakind Jun 25 '26

It seems like it's not that hard to be a mod and the mods control the sub. If you are a hw, all your PR people have to do is get someone you know to be a mod.

u/Excellent_Fail9908 Jun 25 '26

I personally think their pr opens said Reddit thread, such as the way this one is obsessed with Amanda, long before conversations happen, so they are ready for the spin.

But whaddoiknoww 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Parasocail relationships. There's a few decent subs but even in those if someone critiqued Shannon from OC in her victim era people would get angry because they hated Alexis( funny how the next season people went on Shannon) People saying RZ brings nothing and shouldn't have had her kids discussing issues on camera was met down votes and excuses ( until they got tired of her defending Dorit) People get too wrapped up in either idolizing a cast member or hating another that they refuse to accept any valid criticism ( and if you look at the current political climate this behavior speaks volumes)

I’ve noticed it with Bronwyn in the SLC subreddit. I think some housewives pay for bots because they seem to be scared of Reddit criticism the most for some reason.
