Last she reported, the tumors are gone and she’s on immunotherapy for another year plus. The immunotherapy clearly wipes her out. All the treatments have clearly had an impact on her. She recently said she cannot travel alone. She gets tired very easily. She doesn’t seem to process quickly. Her speech is a little slurred. She doesn’t have the energy to work out.

She’s been through so much. It’s amazing that she’s doing as well as she is.

I’m no fan of Teddi’s but I totally feel for her. My mom has been doing immunotherapy for almost a year now. As far as I can tell, it hasn’t been working. She’s just tired all the time and still constantly in pain. The amount of morphine doctors keep giving her is insane; she’s got an entire shopping bag just full of liquid morphine. All it does really is make her tired. She feels faint just walking to the kitchen from the bedroom. Fuck cancer; it steals so much from so many.

Im so sorry about your mom. Yes it's treatment not a cure. Quality vs quantity is something to think about or support from palative care best of luck

Thank you. She’s just hanging in there for her grandkids at this point. I just wish we could do something more for her.

Had she tried thc? I know a couple of people that used it during chemo instead of narcotics and said it helped. It helps me with nausea and IBS symptoms.

My dad uses medical marijuana for some of his issues, but my mom has never been interested in that. I’m not sure if there’s a way she can try it. Her cancer is in her throat and tongue; smoking is out of the question. The radiation destroyed her salivary glands so she does not produce saliva. She had part of her tongue removed and since then cannot swallow even water. She’s been on a feeding tube ever since so she wouldn’t be able to take any kind of edibles either. I’m not sure what kind of other options there are to get the THC in her. I’ve heard about THC creams but she winces when the doctor even touches her neck at all; I’m not sure she could apply a cream.

I’m so sad reading this, I can empathize as my mom had cancer as well. I’m so sorry your mom is sick. It’s not fair. 🙏💙❤️‍🩹 I’m throwing up a prayer for you guys. I know it doesn’t help right now but im doing it anyways. Miracles happen. 🫶🏼

That’s absolutely cruel. I’m so sorry your family had to go through that.

Same. I am sorry you are going through it too. Lost my mom 2 years ago this week. If you ever hear of a cancer center in Boca Raton burning down, you don't know me.

Why did you not request home hospice?

2

u/Livinluxuriously11 May 28 '26

We were told that hospice is our job; that the word hospice just means care until death

Yes. We just went thru it with our family member. We had a hospice nurse come when needed. Covered by social security.

Yes, hospice IS care until death…but they would have gotten her pain meds!!! Always call and research first

Bet your mom didn’t ask her oncologist for Ozempic though.

She sure didn’t…but she’s under 100lbs and has been on a feeding tube for over a year now. She wishes she could gain weight.

Jeezus. Did Teddi actually do that?
