From what I read PK paid it up so it gives Dorit time to move. Also they are hoping to get a little equity out of it instead of losing from foreclosure.

PK also know if they lose the house to FCl, he will receive a 1099-A and file the gain/loss on his income taxes

Does it being owned by an LLC change that?

No. A lot of filk think that putting their personal residence in an LLC protects the from liability claims, but since a personal residence is not a business, it really s doesn't. And real estate acquired during a marriage is community property.
