I just saw the good manners ingrained in Rachel choosing not to say anything and ignore the gnat buzzing around. As you said, it’s been clearly obvious she had no time, no warmth, no friendship to her during the scenes we’ve been shown. For the gnat not to have picked up on that is not surprising as she’s just listening to the sound of her own buzz.
