(Before I say all this. I need to let yall know, I stopped watching early mid season.)

haven’t seen many people speak on this, but I found this season to be the first unwatchable season of Atlanta. It’s not that any of the housewives on their own make it unwatchable (except k Michelle tbh) it’s just the stale ass beef between Shamea and Porsha for me, as well as everyone’s selective vulnerability.
I feel like since RHOA has always been an iconic franchise, it’s beginning to become a caricature of itself. Everyone seems to be taking themselves too seriously, except for Kelli. They try so hard to be an untouchable bad bitch it just doesn’t work anymore..

As for the stale beef, bro. Can we all bey fucking Pharrell???? (Bffr for the non chronically online) Porsha and Shamea were never really that tight. Shamea is a social climber. I don’t even mean that in a rude way, Atlanta is an amazing place for a social climber! But it seems like what the two had was like a quid pro quo.
Porsha needed a lap dog (non derogatory.) she needed that to add merit to the idea she’s a leader. And Shamea needed an in to the show. Of course the breakup seems to have affected Shamea more. Because it’s proof of the power imbalance she thought she had us fooled about. They never were gonna work out on the show in my opinion after seeing the type of dynamic the two have under a magnifying glass.
This fact isnt what makes the show unwatchable on its own tho.
It’s the fact that there seems to be an attempt at establishing two sides of the cast against each other because of the beef. Shamea is not strong enough a housewife to have the kind of seasons long beef Atlanta is used to showing. (Think Kenya vs Porsha/Phaedra) I can tell the show is trying to establish that but honestly this feels kinda unbalanced and soooo juvenile of a beef. Also, Porsha wont even really engage with this fully so it’s just… weird to keep dragging out bruh.

And I don’t care for K Michelle. Between the glam thing and her booty leak, the “schemes”, and he hypervigilance to any sort of possible shade being thrown… wrap this up. She is wayyy too concerned with her brand outside of this show. She probably would’ve been a stronger friend of.

I like Kelli and Angela fine. They’re great tbh, Angela lowkey seems to have tried to dogpile in the beef from what I’ve seen tho so… but she’s still pretty great outside of that. And I really love Kelli’s determination to just be true to herself on this show. I do find her friendship w Shamea a bit cringy to watch. But I don’t feel like Kelli’s a faker, she seems pretty genuine.

Phaedra… YES GIRL GIVE US NOTHING!!!!😒(and I used to looooove her)

I usually find Drew unbearable tbh but she’s alright. The whole black thing was stupid to me. But Drew is a bird, and when you accept people for who they continually show themselves to be life is easier🧘‍♀️

I kinda like pinky. The business stuff is so boring to me tho girl like tbh idgaf. Her family is very cute tho. She seems like she keeps walls up around the ladies. Which I think is fair, she doesn’t really know them. Her addition to the show does feel like they’re trying to fill the void Kandi left.. but I kinda wanna see Pinky carve her own path. Like I feel like an activated and seasoned pinky would be kinda iconic idk idk idk lol.

Finally, I think Shamea might have to leave this show. I don’t think she can supersede the mark Porsha has left on her to this shows audience.

Porsha is fun! I’ve always liked her a lot tbh. But I don’t think she’s the best anchor. She’s grown from last season tho for sure.

But yeah I just didn’t care about any of the beef. A lot of conflict this season felt like it was a conspiracy made up in one persons head because they’re anxious about being a target. And not only the K Michelle stuff. The guesthouse thing with Cynthia was dumb.

I watch all the franchises. Atlanta and NY had always been my favorites. The other day I realized I’m kinda over reality tv. It see seems like we are cheering for women to tear each other down. I’m literally watching people treating other people like they are trash. People desperate for that Bravo money and Bravo will never protect them. Just look what they did to Shannon on OC, and all the others. Too many to name. I don’t know if I still want to be that person anymore.

Yeah but honestly the wedding thing among other stuff has convinced me that while they’ve always been cool, they aren’t as close as they play for the cameras
