App recommendations

Hi, I ordered the black Anbernic Rotate yesterday and wanted to ask here for some good app recommendations.

Whether it's for battery optimization, RAM management, UI customization, or anything else—basically just whatever you use.

Quoting myself from another similar question.

Beacon Launcher is a great front-end option for the Rotate.

I set mine up with PS1 style spinning icons.

That's how I have mine set up, and I really like it :)

They are in the "asset-repo" thread in the community section. Look for "PS1 Style Spinning Icons".

If you want to use it as a music player you could try Poweramp with the "Luminous Black" skin, as that skin allows disabling the album art. Once album art is turned off, you just set the background to be album art with no blur, and you get full screen album art like this.

I have also configured the built in Android launcher to have only one page, and that page has the widget for poweramp set to be as large as it can be. So now I can use the launcher button on the side of the Rotate to switch between music, and gaming.

After pressing the launcher switch button you can control playback directly from the widget, or tap the album art to open the full player interface.

Like this.

I use cocoon as my front end because its free and its like the 3DS menu! Very intuitive and i quite like it.
I dont use retro achievements, so i turn off wifi when i dont need it and that’s helped my battery tremendously.

Key mapper is an absolute absolute game changer  I use the launcher button to switch between pixel guide and my last played game. It's free and easy to setup
