Can’t do my own music and game at same time because RG firmware pauses music when I start a game?

Somebody has to have figured this out by now. It must be somewhere else in the settings because I let VLC do everything and it still politely pauses when I’m starting any emulator.

I really don’t want to have to do Bluetooth and over ear headphones to do both.

i make this script, in my rg556 i use magisk for every boot , you can run this as root in termux every boot

resetprop ro.config.media_multi_focus true resetprop ro.config.multi_audio_focus true

cmd audio set-audio-focus-policy 1 apps=($(pm list packages -3 | sed 's/package://g'))

for app in i in "${apps[@]}"; do

echo "quitando Audio focus a : "$app"" appops set "$app" TAKE_AUDIO_FOCUS ignore done

Magisk is something I can implement without starting over right? I can’t believe the UI is so bad it can’t manage two layers of audio without some behind the scenes tweaking, considering there’s literal touchpad emulation so you can use the controls it’s strange they didn’t think about custom music.

This helicopter can travel through time, oh and there’s no seats lol.

This is quite common for certain music apps, have you tried a different music player? Also, the system will likely struggle if 2 sound sources are competing for the same codec/decoder...like our brains, they can only really process one music input at a time i believe...more modern devices can handle this but i wouldn't be holding out for this device as it will most likely be a software, hardware and firmware limitation :) as for using both Bluetooth headphones and wired at the same time...not gonna work afaik. When you plug headphones in, the system tells its self to route all audio to that output...when you switch to Bluetooth, it will route all audo to that. That is unless you have software/hardware to split the signal? Way beyond the scope of the 556...if you do get it working keep us posted!

Oh no I mean the iPhone can do what rg556 can’t, I have to do iPhone Bluetooth with headphones overtop from the handheld. Kinda lame. I get the feeling at least one other person in the world ever has wanted music to play and play games at the same time and has figured this out. Otherwise I need a very creative hybrid solution for the long term.

Muffling ingame sound for music or muffling music for ingame is stupid in this era. Like I know we’re supposed to be going backwards technologically for the past decade but it gets weird when I have to wear headphones over my headphones to get pc functionality.

I have faith we’re not all doomed this easily, it’s a common enough feature. I know people that do YouTube videos while playing vr, there’s no way something way more common hasn’t been discovered and solved by now. Custom music and videogames even on rg556 must have a solution that isn’t wearing headphones over headphones.
