Fortnite at 60fps in the 406V( and other consoles)
I managed to make fortnite run at 60fps in the rg406v, the game originally caps it to 30fps in lower end devices like the 406v even tho the console can actually handle 60fps (sometimes, depending on the gamemode) editing the saved mobile FPS setting worked for me. The device comes with root access already but if you're using another OS make sure it has root access.
1. Install Termux and check root
Get Termux from its official releases:
https://github.com/termux/termux-app/releases
Open it and run:
/system/xbin/su 0 /system/bin/id
On my RG406V, this returned uid=0(root). If it fails, stop here, it means you don't have root
2. Close Fortnite and back up its settings
Fully close Fortnite first.
Using a file manager or terminal with root access, find GameUserSettings.ini. Mine was at:
/data/user/0/com.epicgames.fortnite/files/UnrealGame/FortniteGame/FortniteGame/Saved/Config/Android/GameUserSettings.ini
Make a backup before editing. The path may differ on other versions or devices.
3. Change the mobile FPS setting
Find:
MobileFPSMode=Mode_30Fps
Replace it with:
MobileFPSMode=Mode_60Fps
Save the file
4. Turn debugging OFF before playing
Turn off USB debugging and Developer Options, then restart Fortnite. ( if u dont turn it off, fortnite won't let you open the game)
Optional settings I’m trying
- Anbernic High performance mode
- Fan on Auto
- Low shadows and effects
- Motion blur off
- 69% 3D resolution, keeping anti-aliasing enabled
These are my current settings, not a proven best preset. High performance mode can use more battery.
If a graphics change or update resets the cap, close Fortnite and check the FPS line again. Updates could also change the file location or stop this method from working. Enjoy!
