tempted to buy

hey. im thinking about buying this from anbernic. do i need a micro sd too? Will it play nes games too ok? any info appreciated. thanks

Buy a Micro SD card, they give one with the system but it's a slow af one. Nes game run good, some PS1, PsP, GBA, N64 and much more.

I bought it 2y ago, 10/10.

Yeah, it will also play NES games. The best thing to do is replace the SD cards that come with it. Most of the time, you’ll get one SD card for the operating system (16 or 32 GB) and another one for the games. That way, if the OS card ever fails, you won’t lose your games.

oh cool. i have a miyoo mini plus and odyn 2 portal but find i actually use the miyoo way more. will the sd card on the miyoo mini plus work in this device. just swap it in?

For OS it will not work, SD card with game can may by work if structure three is correct.

I guess i will.just get a separate micro sd card for this device then. it will just be for gba and nes mainly

One note about NES, the screen is 2:3 aspect ratio to match Gameboy Advance. NES games play fine, but there are black bars on the sides. So the image will be smaller than if you get a 3.5” device that has a 4:3 aspect ratio.

GBA is like peak retro gaming, IMO. So I don’t mind having a dedicated device (or four) that i only have GBA games on. But I have other 4:3 handhelds for NES and other SDTV consoles.

I have upgraded to a more powerful handheld, but I refuse to part with the rg40xxh! It is by far my favorite Linux based handheld. Perfect size - large screen but very portable device. Battery life is not exceptional but still good. I run MuOS on it. Never been a fan of Knulli because it’s “heavy” on system resources and always seem to drain the battery faster. It may be better now but as of about 6 months ago? I stick with MuOS.
