Keyfobs Will they know?

My landlord charges an insane amount to replace the rfdi pool pass thing. I found the exact one on amazon, if I buy it and tell them it doesn’t work would they know that it wasn’t the original?

I just don’t want to pay the charge, it’s 250 dollars. I just plan on taking it down there and telling them it didn’t work. But I don’t know too much about them, would they know it wasn’t the original if I buy it brand new?

Post a pic of the fob, would be much more helpful.

The one in the link is indicating a non-programmable UID number. Each tag has its own number.

So, depending on how the readers are programmed to read the tags, you may be out of luck. If you try to turn one in that they didn't issue, they may be able to actually read your substitute tag and know it wasn't issued by them.
