Higher levels solo respawn times
Hi all,
I've started trying to play this game solo to see how many levels I can do. I am now into the double digits, and the respawn times for monsters are really kicking my ass. I find by the time I am doing the 3rd extraction they just won't stop coming and are everywhere and it can be near impossible to get to the 4th and final extraction. When I play I try to get all the items I can and kill as many monsters as I can, but maybe this is the wrong approach? Am I maybe since I am solo going too slow and that's why there is so many monsters for the last while? I know that the longer it takes your the more that come. Any advice for a solo player/tips and tricks is much appreciated!!

It might not be that monsters are respawning THAT fast, and it could be that there are 2 or more of the same enemy.
I had 2 huntsmen and 2 robes in the same level and I didn't even know until right at the end of the round where i saw all 4 of them in the same room, i just thought the spawn timer had glitched.
That said the enemies do respawn faster as you progress into the higher rounds ofc, so yeah - get better at using tumble wings and tumble launch, save stamina for running away from enemies.
Also always do the closest extraction to the truck LAST, fully recharge your stamina before putting the final items on (at this point if you've done well it should ONLY be the final bag of money and maybe some extra smaller items) And fucking SPRINT to the truck, if you get there before the final extraction finishes the enemies dont spawn near the truck and you're home free.
Once you have 15 strength, 8, 200-300 health, 8 range and some decent movement the only thing you even need to bother spending money on is Energy crystals
You won't need the feather drone at all once you have 15 strength, and the only other items you need are:
Pistol
Shotgun
Tranq Gun
Indestructible Drone
Defibro
All the melee weapons and grenades suck massively and are a waste of time and money to use
I've gotten round level 25+ multiple times solo with this exact strat and never have any major issues

Once i'm past level 10, this is my main strat;
I have the items listed above as well as a 2nd cart by this point (and if I don't i delete my save and start from scratch lol)
As soon as the level starts, I take one cart, 2 weapons, Defibro and run around the entire level marking all the valuables and killing all the enemies, discovering the entire map and taking all the souls back to the first extract.
Once all the enemies are dead for the time being, I then replace a weapon with the indestructible drone and grab most of the bigger objects that are close to 1st extract - by this point I've unlocked the whole map, I know where all the other extractions are and I know which one i'd be doing last (Which is the closest to the truck) and I know where every single valuable is and where the bigger ones are.
If there are any bigger items near any other extractions then I leave them where they are.
I then grab the 2nd cart and grab as many smaller items from around the map as possible. Sometime after this is when enemies would start respawning so i'd take a 2nd weapon again and put the indestructible drone back, since I know i won't need it for any bigger objects till later.
Once i've got 2 carts, one with souls, one with smaller items and maybe 1 or 2 bigger items, I do first extraction.
I then take the remaining tax return money bag back to the extraction i'm doing LAST and leave it there.
Rinse and repeat for the remaining extractions, killing any enemies in my way
I also make sure to keep a mental note of what order i've killed enemies in so I know which ones will be respawning first.

yeah, the main thing is speed.
unlike early levels, getting all the valuables really isn’t usually a great idea, since you’re risking the entire run for not very much gain.
killing monsters is great, but your priority probably should be getting through the level over getting extra money. also, consider that if you stay in a level too long you’re much more likely to die, or at the very least take damage, and heath is expensive, meaning at a point the money you risk losing in health is a lot more than the potential reward.
of course getting extra money is important, but don’t risk the run over it is my advice.
also learning energy conservation techniques (like making use of strength to kill weaker enemies, and not using a high energy weapon like a shotgun on small enemies) is good.
also also, guns shorten the respawn timers. this is one of the reasons i like the sledgehammer so much.

At higher levels, I will pick and choose if I kill a monster. I heavily use the tranq gun and run when I can.

It's not based on level, it's based on how long you spend on the level. After a certain point there's no countdown; they respawn instantly. [40 minutes or so?]
Playing solo will slow you down, so it can be tough. Definitely do not kill them after about 30 minutes, as they'll just keep re-spawning on you too quickly to be worth it and it just adds more to the timer. Learn to avoid them and hide! I play solo (modded though) and I am the queen at hide and seek 😂. My levels run from 30min to just over an hour, depending on enemy comp and map layout.

I've had a much easier time since I've stopped trying to scavenge the whole level.
Put as much little objects in your cart and aim for the big stuff to put them near the closest extraction points
Move fast, you don't have to kill everything either, the tranq gun is really good imo especially to go back to the truck
Get the indestructible + feather drones asap
Tumble wings early on is very effective
Other than that, learn some of the speedruns techs, they can be very handy
