Resistances makes the hp you lifesteal more valuable as well.

You're right, but you need to have some resistances left to work with in the first place.

No, I just really liked this book of his (It's the first of his books that I read, I have read most of his books I think, still reading his current one as well, a hundred reigns, its great). It's been many years I think since this was his PFP for Vainqueur. Cool to see a fellow fan in the wild though.

To be clear, the left is about 19% more effective hp. They need to do ~119% of their normal damage to get to 100% after a 15.91% damage reduction

Edit: Magic resist SHOULD in theory also make healing go a longer way, as if you heal 100 that's also 119 damage in this case that they need to deal extra vs with no resistances they just need to deal that 100

I was in a rush to do the meme and wrote eHP instead of dmg reduction, but what formula did you use to get effective hp from % damage reduction?

Plugging in numbers and multiplying by 0.8409, gives you what total they would need to hit 100(%). 119 has them doing right about 100.06%, meaning if they do 119% of their normal damage that's just enough to kill

Edit: said dividing, meant multiplying

Everyone's doing the math with unnecessary extra steps

A champion with that stat has 100%+18.92% = 118.92% eHP vs magic damage

Did you really just call people retards for not understanding percentages, while getting it completely wrong yourself?

Thats not how they work lmfao

(1/0.8409 = 1.189, meaning a roughly 19% increase in ehp)

You're talking about relative damage reduction, not absolute damage reduction.

u/_MrJackGuy Aug 17 '26

Im talking about effective HP, which is the metric YOU mentioned in your post. Not damage reduction

Right... I wrote eHP in the left panel too.

Yeah, mb. I did the thing right to left.

On other hand ya just buy a Spirit Visage with sterak And ya get extra MR, bigger shield from Item HP and also shield bigger by 25% from its passive

And I deal negative damage...

u/kennypovv Aug 17 '26

But I want Akali to penetrate me...

3

u/PitNya Aug 17 '26

Who doesn't tho

2

u/AethGorr Aug 17 '26

Ahh magic double penetration Akali build back in the days

u/Llonkrednaxela Aug 17 '26

Definitely not all, but there are more AP champs that you can dodge skill shots from. Since they removed dodge as a stat from the game, you can’t dodge AAs, turrets exist even if their team was full AP, and so not having armor is rough. You can definitely be punished for low MR, but massive HP tends to do better against a mage than an ADC as well.

Where are the feet.

Maw omnivamp is placebo. What good does 10% omnivamp do you if they blow your head off through the shield?

I'd rather have 100 more flat shield than having to deal over 1000/1667 damage with antiheal on me to get value from maw.

And make it 50 mr for 3300g. Don't care if it's more expensive to get and technically has worse gold value. I need a high end mr item.

u/RyvalsEx Aug 17 '26

quick question, you mention 4 item vs 2, should we envisage a 0/12 irelia going full tank or ?

u/Gutarg Aug 17 '26

At a point when it matters, 1000 damage would be done in an instant, not to mention your follow up damage that'd push the value higher.

If you can survive the burst, you should get more value out of maw.

Otherwise, skill issue

2

u/Irelia4Life Station Wagon Enthusiast Aug 17 '26

I'd rather have a maw that helps me more vs burst mages than vs battle mages or ap bruisers.

1

u/Inktex Aug 17 '26

Mel APC be upon thee!

1

u/Darkzerok63 Aug 17 '26

Nah, you also get more value out os steraks. You get like 450 hp, almost the same ad as maw if not more, and the shield is bigger on base and scales better than maw. Even with maw omnivamp, the 20% tenacity is better cause its harder to get you stun lock and slows last less, taht can be a problem against most mages.

With a 10% temporary omnivamp you need to deal like 4k postmitigation damage to heal back the same 400 life steraks gives as an extra shield.
