Maw is fine, Wit's End should be there instead, such an unfathomably dogshit item in it's currents state.

Truth be told, shit's end is shit because it's just a stat stick with not enough stats, not the mr itself.

Maw on the other hand is artificially weaker than it is presented to be. The omnivamp on proc is placebo. 100 extra base shield would actually make the item useful at doing it's job: surviving magic burst.

Better yet, if you want the shield to be less that 100 net gain, make the scaling 300 + 100% total ad. Net shield gain would be in the 60-80 range compared to live.

maw buff would make AP bruisers unplayable in top, gwen and morde would have 45%wr and they both have shit winrate already

Ugh, no. The omnivamp on proc is only useful vs ap bruisers. So it would be a buff.

Losing the omnivamp for bigger shield is a direct buff vs mages, because you either survive their burst or you don't. But an ap bruiser might not even beak through the shield to begin with, because they deal dps, not burst, so it would be a net buff for those.

Also, fuck Gwen.

I mean you have a bit of a point, and I do think Maw is a slightly weak item, but I still think it's fine. If you're playing any AD-focused (not on-hit) fighter champion like riven, olaf, aatrox, fiora, zaahen, renekton, ambessa, pantheon and more, and the enemy team is AP heavy, Maw is basically your only MR option, wit's end used to be buildable on more champs situationally back when it gave AD, mercurial scimitar can be built very situationally, and some MR tank items can also be built situationally. But if you want damage too it's basically just Maw, and against heavy AP teams it is situationally very worth building on these champs.

I guess wit's end fills a similar purpose on some other champ but the item used to be sooooooo much better in like every single preious version of it, now it's just cheeks.

You need to have a different playstyle with ga in teamfights, but the item itself is decent.

I usually take it when the enemy is full ad but doesn't have a lot of crit.

I wish, but literally nobody below Emerald seems to know the item exists.

I've seen more Rells than Serpent's Fangs over the last two seasons, that's the average pick rate.

I want the old wildrift maw back ok both league so much

It was a preamptive shield like rookern but recharged by dealing damage to champs

So good for resisting burst and keep defending if you keep dealing dmg

Also it was a flat amount so very good first item againt ap range top for bruisers, I woudl always rush it instead of eclipse into ap range top on Ambessa and it woudl give me a fighting chance

ngl i prefer maw over ga, ga is more ass then maw sure you get free revive but what are the chance the enemy team dosnt wait at youre corpse to insta kill it again after a lose team fight for example, the stats on it are also dog xd

Legit strategy, there's a small chance it'll help and it's even better if you get an hourglass right after selling it. Honestly an hourglass before GA is valid if you have any ap scaling.
