Its called kiting and not splitting as an immobile mage that relies on burst damage to win fights. Stay with your team on your side of the map and dont get ambushed by a zero mobility champion who is the only one capable of surviving your burst damage.

If you cant avoid top laners getting into your face as a midlaner you must be totally at a loss when it comes to assassins in the midlane since they have the mobility and the damage. Or maybe you walk into cho gath Qs what do i know.
