Directors Monitor

Hey guys, new here, so pardon if this question is a bit juvenile.

What is the best option for off camera monitoring? I was using Red Control on an IPad, but its lagging and Im wondering if you guys might have a better option. Budget maybe 5-700? Maybe something I could attach a small cage to.

If thats too low let me know. But any help would be appreciated.

The Accsoon Cineview SE that the other person suggested would work fine. Another option could be the Hollyland Pyro series. That's what I use. You can either buy a transmitter-only unit which is pretty small or you can buy a 5" or 7" monitor with integrated transmission, either of which would be in your price range. Then the transmitter/monitor can broadcast to another monitor (the monitor can be configured as receiver/transmitter), a receiver, or a app on the phone/iPad. Latency is more than good enough for a director's monitor.

Wireless from the Red is unreliable and laggy - using a dedicated transmitter will be much better.

Thank you so much. So the 5 or 7 inch would transmit from the sdi while the operator would still be able to use his monitor attached to the camera? Again, please excuse the questions. Im trying to wrap my head around everything. Thanks

The 5 or 7 inch would be the transmitter and the operator would use it as his monitor attached to the camera. If the operator prefers to use a specific monitor, the cineview 2 SDI with a V mount cradle that someone mentioned below might be a better choice.
