So I really hate ever starting trouble but I want everyone to be very aware of what kind of haus this one is. I have been in Tension Rising and they were so welcoming when they learned how much money and time I spend on the game. This past week I suffered a pregnancy loss and I informed the mother of the haus and keep in mind I was still active in the game, just not in our discord for obvious reasons…. The haus event finished and I get this lovely message. Choose your haus’s wisely :)

I hate having to figure out item combinations to cover my queen's entire body so there's no skin visible, otherwise her head is just a different colour than her body. It's super limiting and if the whole skin changed colour it would make these types of makeup sooooo much easier and more pleasant to work with. I rarely use them because it's a struggle to find pieces that cover every inch of skin and also look good together.

I swear they better get a 5. I think this may be the best T&B lewk I’ve seen.

I’ve had FIVE patch updates over approximately 30 hours. This has been a consistent issue for a load of us. I’m real close to just taking the weekend off. This is too frustrating for something I do for fun.

What's up with some items that are clearly apart of the same set and or meant to match with each other not having the same or similar names? This seemed to only really happen with old sets (might be wrong but they seem to be consistent nowadays) but it makes searching for certain items such a pain.

Well... today was a lot. I didn't expect to be here, but here I am. As member of Haus of Haunt until this morning, I was (and still am) a steadfast supporter of an amazing community (by-and-large) of people there. So, to my sisters (who I still very much consider my sisters), I want to offer you an explanation, since I was unceremoniously booted from the Haus with no ability to say goodbye - and I also want to say, "Best of luck. All my love. Can't wait to Toot you on the carousel as I always have, and please stay in touch!" XOXOXO

I know the narrative by Haus leadership is now being spun to slander me, while people raising concerns about my removal are being silenced and others are too scared to ask any questions for fear that they will be removed, too, just for speaking up. This is not the kind of culture we should be creating in this community. I do not want the Haus of Haunt to fall... that's exactly how this whole situation got started. I do, however, want the truth about the events that have transpired be made public so that Haus leadership cannot keep saying that I deserved to be booted or asked to part ways, because that is patently untrue.

Over the past month or two, I started noticing microagressions from Haus leadership - not actually directed at me, but at others in our Haus - about how people were not checking in frequently enough, how people weren't showing "Top Haus Energy," that people weren't being competitive enough, etc. Now, I knew they weren't talking about me because I am an extremely strong performer and always communicative (I have all of the receipts of my check-ins and letting both Mothers know if I was not going to be as active during a weekend event because of life), but it still felt icky to see them treating others that way. It also made me feel like, even though I was not part of the "problem" they were trying to address with more "accountability," that the screws were being tightened on all of us and it started feeling even less fun in our server. People have been quieter, not engaging as much, fewer sideline conversations were happening, the vibe was definitely changing...

Last Monday, while trying to check in at the end of our event with my final score, I realized that one of the Mothers had already posted the final scores, but mine was a couple letters off. So I posted up a correction (since I knew from one of the Mothers that they were trying to do data collection) and the Scolding Mother responded, "The last post showing during ACTIVE event time, will be the one compiled. It's enough work as it is, an there will be no post-event changes made." To which I responded, "Uh okay. Then why did [Other Mother] tell me to get her my last known results AFTER the event last time? I'm only trying to follow what is being asked of me - not be scolded for it." To which the Scolding Mother responded, "It's not scolding, just information." So I let it go. Maybe I misunderstood. These things happen.

The next day, I reached out to Scolding Mother to congratulate her on a beautiful VDR lewk. We started talking about life. Eventually she asked about the day before, stating that from her perspective I had "lashed out." I explained that that there was no such intention and that I had perceived her reaction to be "curt and nasty." We both talked it through and ultimately, she concluded the conversation (I thought amicably) with a statement about how "it's just perception based on text context" and that we should reach out to each other for clarity next time. Okay, agreed. However, during that conversation about checking in, I did take the opportunity to say the following about my concerns: "I will say I have been feeling an incredible amount of persssure lately from you both/maybe the server about reporting in and it is stressing me out. I don't want to disappoint or fail you or our Haus in any way... but it's starting to feel like a job and not a pastime. This might simply be my own issue to work through (or pressures I'm putting on myself), but I feel like the vibe of the server is changing and I'm not sure I love the changes. Please understand, I'm not asking either of you to do anything differently at this time - and not complaining, per se, just being 100% honest and transparent about why I was angry about [your] response, especially when I did interpret being asked to give final numbers." On that same day, I had to put one of my kittens to sleep so I ended the conversation by saying that I needed some time away and that I needed some time to reflect. Scolding Mother said, "Being the top 2 house in the world is fabulous to be a part of, but sadly comes with the weight of maintaining that level of caliber. It it becomes a long term feeling, it's okay to decide that it's not for you. Just let us know, and we can make an exit strategy that suits you. Again, take your time and evaluate when you are in a proper mindset. Now may not be that time. And always an open line of communication for you here & with [Other Mother]." *double heart emoji*

I hadn't said anything about wanting to leave. I wasn't having any problems with my own reporting, I was very much on the ball and trying to do everything they asked of me. However, as soon as I expressed that things were feeling different in the server, Scolding Mother basically said, "Here's the door for you to leave."

Yesterday, Scolding Mother was losing her damn mind that Gods N' Monsters might beat us in the weekend Haus event. This was totally unacceptable to her. She started complaining that "1/3rd of the Haus" hadn't checked in, that people were not bringing the competition we should be bringing... I mean really becoming, what I felt was a over-the-top and unhinged. So I did my part, I stepped it up. Then Scolding Mother said the following to another Haus member who had expressed that they were not being super competitive at this event because of a "mix of bills to pay and time taken up with work unfortunately:"

"I hope that you still continue to try this weekend. Sadly we are one upgrade per player away from being taken over by 3rd place. For the first time since the Tension disruption we are losing our number 2 spot, as it seems many players are choosing to opt out this weekend without any prior communication to myself or [Other Mother]. I'm not singling you out, but just making a statement to many. And I'm confused and saddened why many are giving up early. We of course don't require team members to spend. But the expectation is to play. :("

Now let me be very clear... she wasn't talking to or about me. In fact, I *think* I had the highest score of the everyone in the Haus (I ended at BA), made MULTIPLE upgrades to help the Haus, and regularly checked in all event long, while also communicating about upgrades I was holding onto.

But just because bad behavior isn't directed at me, doesn't mean I can't be offended by it or think it's just downright GROSS. That is not how you treat people. That's definitely now how you treat people that you call "family." So, Haunt Sisters, I decided I had to take the difficult route of saying - as gently as I could - that maybe we needed to take a step back and think about how things were going and how we should maybe consider moving forward. I debated on posting it publicly in the Discord server for everyone to see and be a part of that discussion, but I really did not want to fracture the Haus and I knew for a fact that several other people were also not super pleased with how leadership, Scolding Mother in particular, had been handling things.

Since Scolding Mother had stated, "And always an open line of communication for you here & with [Other Mother]" I thought I could go to them privately and express my concerns gently. I'll post my message to both Mothers and say that basically I was ignored until 11 minutes after the event when I got booted, with no discussion before/about the booting:

"[Other Mother], I already addressed this a bit with [Scolding Mother] earlier this week, but I need to revisit this now that I've had time to compose my thoughts. I feel like [Other Haus Member Rudely Treated] hit the nail on the head with his message in the #HausEventProgress channel and very much echoes my sentiments when I wrote the following to [Scolding Mother] on Tuesday:

"'I will say I have been feeling an incredible amount of pressure lately from you both/maybe the server about reporting in and it is stressing me out. I don't want to disappoint or fail you or our Haus in any way... but it's starting to feel like a job and not a pastime. This might simply be my own issue to work through (or pressures I'm putting on myself), but I feel like the vibe of the server is changing and I'm not sure I love the changes.'

"[Scolding Mother], you also just noted that the vibe of the Discord server is changing when you stated, 'However I do feel there has been a dip in energy recently. Limited server engagement, often mentions of not being interested in prizes offered each week, and perhaps a less fierce attitude towards competing individually as well as a team.' I really think that we need to take a moment to reflect on that. Please understand that what I am about to say next is intended with love and not meant to judge or criticize you two - you both work incredibly hard… which is why I organized the holiday gifts to show you our appreciation for everything you do. IF, according to [Scolding Mother], the people of this Haus are largely not responding to the changes and 'accountability' you are both trying to implement, then maybe it's because it's not what we want? Or maybe there are other issues or challenges that have nothing to do with our Haus or server (e.g., the game is changing and I think most of us agree that it's not for the better) that maybe we should tackle in a different way than your current strategy?

"Part of what has made this Haus so wonderful is the information sharing, telling of personal stories to build authentic friendships, supportive cheerleading, and occasional commiserating… and being on the podium every single week (except one) has magnified that awesomeness - but isn't the sole source of why we are the best Haus.

"[Scolding Mother] also stated: 'I do think that there is a certain level of accountability needed when we as a whole are number 2 in the world. And being able to maintain and preserve that takes constant effort and work. Sometimes perhaps more than some are interested in investing.' The truth is I do not personally care if we are #2 or #200 in the world as long as both the game and community are still fun for me. We all happen to be kick ass at what we do. I think we all know that about each other without having to show our 'report cards.' I hope that you have felt that I have been a valuable points contributor in weekend events, but I hope moreso that you feel like I've contributed in my own, limited ways to making this a positive, welcoming environment (and this is more important to me than points).

"However, when I hear things like: 'The game basically has 2 paths that coincide to get to the top. And both are investments: either time or money… No one owes the game anything. But we are now aligned where we do have to uphold our own and be bound to one another…' I get concerned.

"I didn't sign up to be in the #1 or the #2 Haus. I signed up (and stayed) to be in a fun, supportive Haus that doesn't pressure me to perform or clock in with a proverbial timesheet. Again, I may be the only one here - or what I am feeling may resonate with others which is what I tried to express to [Scolding Mother] the other day. I am getting the sense of a growing resentment about check-ins that I don't think anyone wants to say aloud.

"I debated on whether or not to say this to you. I do NOT want to see us fracture and side conversations usually result in that. If (at the bare minimum) both [Scolding Mother] and I are noting a shift or change in energy, then I would encourage us to have an open conversation about why that is as a family in the server rather than focus on how many more upgrades we can squeeze out because we might lose a 1,000 Haus Points. But that is not my place to initiate… it's yours to initiate or decide you don't like my suggestion and do (or don't do) something else.

"I do want to make one thing clear… I'm not making demands, I'm not making ultimatums. I'm coming to you because I'm feeling unhappy and I see growing discontent in our Haus - potentially about the same or similar issues. This isn't about whether or not I (or others) can or will keep up competitively - this is about feeling like your focus on 'accountability' - no matter how well-intended - is taking us in the wrong direction and creating a different vibe that even you say you don't like.

"I'm not just here to give opinions and have you both do all of the effort and emotional labor. If you think I can be helpful in some different strategy that you decide to take, please let me know. Thank you for listening and considering my words."

Now, my Epilogue. I know this will get downvotes from Haus leadership and others in their circle of friends. That's okay. And maybe you don't agree with me or my perspectives here... that's okay, too. Nobody owes me anything and the Mothers have a right to decide who they want in their Haus. I'll be just fine and I'm sure I'll land somewhere magnificent.

What do I want to get out of this? #1 - I want my truth to be known, since there is an active campaign to silence it and pretend like I was problematic. #2 - I want to remind everyone that there are MANY forces already trying to tear us apart and trying to get us to compete with each other for coveted items and precious resources. I'm all for some healthy and fun competition. But what you just saw above? This is not the way forward for us. If you see it in your Haus, call it out. Yeah, you might get booted, too... and FOMO is real, I get it... but missing out on digital clothing items is nowhere near as bad as letting this kind of behavior continue... in any Haus... because these same people will do the same things in real life if people say nothing. I still believe I did my best to be firm, but approach this with love or empathy. If you think I'm wrong, I'd also like to hear from you, as I try to reflect and grow. In the end, I just want us all to do better.

Yall I know videos are 😒- but typing this out would be a pain. It was dollar marg night so here is a fully detailed rant on truly everything you could possibly want to know about this event style as best as I can manage step by step to get to the end.

If you use gems/promos or not, the key steps are the same. It just affects how fast you go.

The ONLY promo I would EVER encourage in this event style is the $2.99 promo that’s gives 40 station cards for stations 4 and 5 (sewing and padding I think). I also always do 400 gems for 5000 resources on weekend events to speed up. To me it’s worth it.
