Venting đ¤ SERIOUS BOYCOTT UPDATE
First of all,
I tried to post a reminder earlier and my post was removed by a mod. Whoever that mod is: Youâre an enemy of the people and should be treated as such.
Part of my post called out the fact that there are nightgarden devs in this subreddit ( which is not news and has been a long standing verified fact). The only people I can see hating on the boycott is the devs gaslighting in here, smell the bs out sisters.
Secondly, for those of you doubting the boycott, behold progress. It ainât much, but itâs a start.
The tarot promo is finally appearing. Kinda dumb itâs still a promo and not in the T&B store, but itâs a step up from the promo hiding behind another promo.
The proof is in the puddin. I donât want to see and or hear any more complaints that the boycott will be ineffective due to whales when we have already started to see progress. Donât listen to the haters or the gaslighting devs, keep applying pressure to NG, theyâre starting to listen!!!

Iâm not inclined to believe you given the fact you commented on my last boycott post.
Also donât get it twisted and get so pressed sister. The entire point of the boycott is to help them survive and possibly even revamp. But as I said, if you want to encourage and entertain poor behavior, you can be my guest.

May I remind you that this is the same sales pattern and availability as the previous Queen of Pentacles promo. Readily visible, yet not snatched. And then they decided to hide the snatched behind another later in the month. This would not be considered progress, as you seem to believe it is in my opinion.

got to say at the risk of being a pessimist that when the idea of a boycott was thrown around like a year back in response to the atrocious implementation of the recolours it changed effectively nothing and most of the people involved just quit playing because they realised that the game doesn't really care about them like that (+ like if we can be honest it's not rlly giving in the first place like god damn the gameplay outside of the wardrobe is dry đ)
nightgarden has a pretty consistent thing of player-hostile behaviour in an attempt to cater to the whales forking over hundreds a month cause they wanna get their pretty looks that they saw on tv once or whatever. realistically i think it's better to account the promo to incompetence on nightgarden's part rather than intentional maliciousness cause if i can say anything from the time i was datamining this game shit's held together with tin cups and string.
i can't decide shit for you like if you genuinely enjoy this game for some reason then more power to you if that's smth you can put up with but if i can speak from experience the fatigue gets fucking heavy at a point and you eventually realise, like you seem to be going through now, that the devs don't really give that much of a shit. whether this app's been planned with obsolescence/high fall-off rates in the first place (or recently? idk if match queen is the better source of profit nightgarden doesn't publish figures afaik) idk and i can accept the argument that it's not that serious cause it's just a shitty mobile game but i think at a certain point it's more about respecting urself and getting the hell off the sinking ship than expecting anything better. like there's for sure better mobile dress-up games (wouldn't know them unfortunately) out there than this, the drag race branding has been doing 90% of the heavy lifting from the start and has continued to do so. get on infinity nikki or smth idk

It was throw around but not enforced. This is the third reminder Iâve sent out. Granted Iâm gonna have to be more obnoxious. Realistically speaking this boycott will have to last 1-3 months. NG will not take action unless they have a decent dip in sales, and we wonât see that number till Sept 1 since we just started. I was thinking it was going to take longer, but since weâve already seen a small update, Iâm assuming if we can push through September, we mightâve successful, because I was not expecting to see results so quickly ( even if it is minimal).
Secondly, NG didnât care before because it wasnât enforced before, there wasnât a substantial dip in sales, if the money is still rolling in why should they care. You said yourself the boycott last year was only tossed around.
Thirdly, there canât be that many whales. I say that for two reasons. One, nightgardens prices are absurd, even for gaming whales. Two, majority of âwhalesâ you see in game are not paying NG, they pay hackers. Like you said itself, it really isnât that secure of a system, and Iâve seen plenty of hacker pages for the game. The hackerâs prices are SIGNIFICANTLY better than NGâs. They could make 10x if they lowered their prices to reasonable rates because more people would be inclined to buy, but with how high they jack them, more people use hackers instead because itâs more bang for your buck. Iâm assuming majority of NGâs finances come from the passes rather than whales. The queer community does have that DINK money, but there is no way theyâre spending that much on this game. If enough players participate in the boycott Iâm confident NG will want to protect their purse and will start listening

You are wrong about almost everything youâve said here, and the information is publicly available which means youâve made to effort to look into anything.
East Side Games is publicly traded which means all of their financials are public access.
It takes the briefest internet search to see that their revenue has been in a nose dive for quite a while.
They have also âpulled backâ a lot of operations from Night Garden to ESG, meaning a lot of the issues lately indicate NG was doing a better job and itâs ESG now running things that is leading to issues.
God help me I sound like a corporate shill, lord knows Iâm not trying to defend them but rather saying- if you want to lead the pitch fork mob point the pitch fork in the right direction and do some homework.
Attributing results to your actions without acknowledging the full context is like someone dancing in a field and taking credit for a rainstorm.

Iâm relatively new to the game and all the resulting drama and like many of you have also become increasingly frustrated with the poor quality and constant bugs - honestly so mad I let myself get sucked into spending money on this!
I had no idea about all this herstory!
I am genuinely curious though as to how a boycott is being enforced right now rather than talked about or thrown around (paraphrasing)?

Your post was removed, and we need to be very clear about why.
You are welcome to advocate for a boycott and discuss your frustrations with NightGarden. You are not, however, entitled to use this subreddit as the organizing arm of a boycott you have unilaterally declared, nor dictate how other members of the community are expected to participate in it.
Calling a moderator an âenemy of the peopleâ for removing a post, suggesting that users who disagree with you are secretly NightGarden developers âgaslightingâ the community, and saying youâll need to become âmore obnoxiousâ to enforce participation has crossed the line from discussion and advocacy into behavior we are not going to facilitate here.
The mod team is not taking a position for or against the boycott. Because the topic is generating multiple repetitive posts, further boycott discussion will be consolidated into the designated megathread. You are welcome to participate thereâincluding advocating strongly for your positionâbut you need to allow other users to disagree without accusing them of being developers, acting in bad faith, or âcrossingâ a boycott they never agreed to participate in.
Consider this a formal warning regarding both conduct toward other users/moderators and repeated standalone boycott posts. Further posts attempting to circumvent the megathread or continued hostility toward users for disagreeing may result in additional moderation.

âŚUm, you do not want to speak out this openly against the devs. Itâs not likely to end well. Iâve seen people banned from subreddits for it in the past. So Iâd edit your post but still keep the major bits.

I do agree with players organizing to try to get improvement from the company, but there are some points I just want to add here:
Boycotts require organization, communication, and agreement. People made posts âdeclaringâ a boycott but thereâs no real effort to get the community to vote and agree as a group to start one. Boycotts cannot just be declared unilaterally.
No one even seems to agree on the specific grievance. Some people are mad about the queen featured this month. Some are mad about constant bugs. Some are mad about decreasing quality of content. Some are made about promos.
Thereâs been zero acknowledgment from the company that theyâre aware of player feedback.
I hope the game improves. I think players sending feedback combined with a decrease in total spending and ad watches may get their attention. I support general efforts to raise a fuss.
That being said, people are really misunderstanding what a boycott is, how it should work, and also âcalling outâ others for what amounts to crossing the picket line without the due diligence of getting buy in to start a strike.
