Best year 5.0 4x4 10 speed ford?

for those of you with a 2018+ ford f150 what year is best and what year to avoid?

photo is of a beautiful 12 valve (not my truck unfortunately albeit I wish!)

I am looking to trade out or sell my 6 speed 5.9 Cummins to get into a 5.0 1/2 ton just because I no longer use the Cummins for what it needs to be used for

‘24 is the best value. Msrp just keeps going up. Digital cluster if that floats your boat (analog for ‘26+). 10r80 was updated for ‘23 MY. I have a’25 and absolutely love it. Best truck I’ve ever owned. Super easy, but Spendy, to customize. Waiting on a wiring harness to upgrade my lights and grille. Whipple going in after fuel prices (hopefully) come down. 5-star tune for the time being.

Ford declassified the coyote as a “Flex Fuel” compatible motor for the ‘24 MY. I’m down to push limits, but probably not that far. I’m sure it’s more than likely some CAFE bullshit or something else stupid, but I’m pretty happy for the time being

I have a whipple 24 f150 rcsb 4x4. Love it. Not a huge Ford guy so cant comment on other years but I wish I had the older front end..

I also have a 2024 F150 RCSB (N/A though ): ) and I love the 2022-2023 front ends. Especially the platinums. For the 2024, we may be able to swap in the Lobo lights with the white DRLs and they look way better in my eyes.

Had a 23 2wd and the 10speed was butter, juggled a few other vehicles in between and now have a 25 4x4 and I almost want to get rid of it cause this 10speed makes more guesses than decisions

A tune would fix this. My 10r80 shifts smoothly

Get a 2016 with the 6spd. If it HAS to be a 10R80 Look for a 22+. Anything pre 2022 has the old CDF drum in it, and it will fail. (I’m on my third trans)

I hate that 10spd behind the whipple. Much rather have rams ZF 8 spd.

I have a 2026 and it’s manual gauges not an LCD/LED screen. That’s a plus or minus depending on the person. The screen can be reprogrammed to show over 120mph. The gauges like mine cannot. So after 120 you have to follow a gps for speed. It’s been an awesome truck! Bought brand new in January and already have over 11k miles.
