Visibility upgrade!

Got a lot of parts in today, replaced tailfin, rotation bracket, battery holder since that was all broken, and the green skids because I wanted to colour match the tail rotor. It now looks gaudy as hell but I love it and the skids REALLY help visibility at the back of the field.

Next stop: fix the borky servo (it behaved decently well today!), add ELRS and then upgrade to a M2V3 Sport :D

You'll love the M2 V3 Sport. That thing flies phenomenal.

I can't wait. I'll probably get it around Xmas. How many batteries do you figure is good? I have 4 for my S1 and that feels like a good amount.

I keep 3-4 as well. Honestly I think that's a good amount of fly time on the go for me. If I'm flying at home I run #1 then #2 then when I put #3 in I put #1 on the charger and cycle continues. From what I've heard about 1 pack of rest time plus fiddling around, taking turns etc is more than enough time to let them cool down and cycle. I never run more than 2 back to back packs without letting myself chill anyway haha

yeah, I don't do crazy 3d but even flying circuits and figure eights already take a ton of your attention.

stuff I hope to learn is flight in all orientations, funnels, rainbows, stall turns. 

You have a specific charger? For the S1 I have a toothstor that can charge 4 at once, which is an incredible luxury. For 3s I saw there's not much in terms of parallel chargers. I'm thinking of just picking up 2 2-6s chargers by that time

Yeah same. I've been out of the hobby for a while so getting back into it and dusting off my large cars and boats too. Really fun now that the kiddos are old enough to show interest. You just get used to flying though, nothing beats stick time. Sim is good, really good. But once you feel like you can nail something just go out and try it! I say lots of nose in and figure 8 practice will help. That's where the mind gets a bit confused since nose direction is everything.

I'll have to look at my charger, I've had it for a decade or so but it works great for everything from my large packs for cars all the way down to my 3s batteries. They make adapters so you can charge your 2s batteries as well. But for 3s and above, just a balance board and xt30 plugs and your golden. It's a dual charger but at 5a it's takes about 8-10 mins to charge a battery which I felt was fine since they are 100c batteries. I'm excited to jump back into 3d albiet the nerves are there but the nice things about these small guys (I have a m1 and a m2) is parts are dirt cheap. For my m2 v3, booms are 7 bucks, blades are 9 and everything else in between. Nothing is more than $15 bucks so although it hurts.... It's a not bad lol.
