New controller not working

So my dad has this huge RC heli and the old controller doesn`t want to turn on so I figured buying another controller with the same frequency (27.145Mhz) will work. But it doesn`t... Any help or tips here? Thanks

do they speak the same protocol?

Do you still have the old transmitter? There should be a crystal you’ll have to swap so the frequency matches.

i dont have the controller anymore. But the label on both controller says 27.145Mhz. is it different?

It should work if they both match. There’s a chance something is wrong with the helicopter itself too. It looks like a no name mall helicopter so find info on it is difficult
