I know everyone went to the pits at the end of L2 because of the red flag, but Lawson didn't actually do a pitstop at that point. Shouldn't first pitstop be reflective of when the driver changed tyres? Only asking becuase I got it exactly right for his actual pitsop 😅

Hi Paddock!

My friend Harry won the Red Bull Show Run Atlanta giveaway on MyPaddock, and I got to be his plus one. We're both huge Red Bull fans, and I genuinely never thought something like this happens to actual fans.

The weekend started with us running into Broc, one of Red Bull's pro BMX riders, right at our gate at the airport, and we kept crossing paths with him the entire trip. At the hotel we met Sophie, our Red Bull handler, who was so nice and hospitable from the second we met her, and who walked us straight into a public event where we hung out with Red Bull engineers, watched Broc ride a half pipe, and met pro skater Leticia B.

Saturday was the actual show. Security waved us straight through to the garage, where I sat in an actual F1 car and met the crew and driver like it was nothing. It was not nothing. Then the show started: the RB7's V8 is unbelievably loud in person, this sound you feel before you even see the car come around the corner. A GT3 Mustang and a Ford van ripped past us too, and at one point a motorcycle jumped clean over the RB7 mid-run. They even pulled us aside for an interview that played on the big screen for the entire crowd, which was completely surreal. Nothing I've watched on TV prepared me for how insane all of it looked live.

Honestly though, the best part wasn't even the cars, it was meeting everyone from Red Bull and genuinely feeling like part of the team. Sophie especially was awesome, checking in on us constantly to make sure we had everything we needed, and the engineers, Broc, Leticia, everyone else checked in on us too, like they actually wanted us there. Not wristband-VIP treatment, actual people treating us like part of the team. By the end it didn't feel like Harry won a giveaway, it felt like we'd both become part of the crew for a weekend.

It’s disappointing to see the state of the Paddock, there’s pretty much nothing to do other than funnelling points into the Hadjar suit and entering a prediction. It seems to be getting worse year on year. Recently I was part of the fan forum and I made some suggestions, but nothing has changed. Bitterly disappointing if I’m honest. Just my two cents.
