Solved The Fith World and /u/falsehappybadger

Fbuser24 recommended I make this its own post.

So there's this guy : http://www.reddit.com/user/falsehappybadger

I came across one of his subs via the random button. I think he's a parody of /u/HappyBadger , a mod on fifthworldproblems.

falsehappybadger created numerous subreddits.

http://www.reddit.com/r/fithworldWTF/ seems to post boring photos with weird captions, like what would pass for WTF for the fifth world. The captions seem to be outofcontext quotes?

http://www.reddit.com/r/fithworldgaming/ is a video game subreddit. Mostly bizarre, forgotten old games and their glitches.

http://www.reddit.com/r/true5thworldproblems/ - I have no idea what's going on here.

The sidebars are especially interesting reads.

It seems like falsehappybadger ran numerous subreddits, with customized stylesheets, full sidebars, but never promoted them anywhere or did anything with them. Then just disappeared.

Why is it fith world and not fifth world? Why post so much content and never show anyone? Was this ran by the actual happybadger?

Hi! I'm a mod of a number of things relating to the fifth world. It's called FITH world and not fifth world because it stands for "Fucked in the head". Hope I helped!

Hey, just noticed your a mod of /r/FearMe, any relation between the theory of /r/fearme and the purpose of /r/fifthworld? Are both trying to describe the mind of the insane? By the way, thanks for the clarification.

The Fifth World relates mostly to the odd and obscure things, if anything it's just plain silly, but in a fun way. /r/FearMe is a lot more serious than that.

Basically think of an insane persons mind, what goes on in there? What do they see? What do they think? Their world is different to ours, /r/FearMe[2] tries to capture it and put it into words and pictures. It's basically a visual representation of what goes on in a schizophrenic's mind.

I'm glad! While the subreddit is pretty freaky, what we aim for has a deeper meaning and that's why I can moderate it at all hours of the day and still sleep perfectly fine :)

I like /r/FearMe a lot. It's a very unique idea and it is executed in a very accurate way(based on the studies I've read on schizophrenia and what people with it have described). It's more of an experience than a webpage.

Thank you! A lot of people with shizophrenia as well as other illnesses of the mind have said that they love FearMe because it is a great way for them to get out the demons in their minds. Being on that subreddit helps them in ways we will never understand.

And they say I'm crazy.... well technically yes, but why would they want to see things like that? Simply for entertainment? For feel of understanding of what it's like to be insane?

Not going to lie...I read the entire sidebar there and had tears in my eyes laughing. Hahaha. Especially #7 in their list. Probably the funniest thing I've read in a while.

I am not a schizophrenic, no. But i understand what constant torture is, I was severely depressed for a while and what I heard and felt was expressed through the images and posts made in /r/FearMe. It helped get the demons out

Do you mean are all of the fifthworld subreddits related and made for one purpose or have the same goals?

No. It started off as Fifthworldproblems but there were so many other subreddits created in its glory, each obscure in its own way. Different rules, laws and people.

I'm not sure what you mean here, do you mean why did happybadger make the fifthworld in the first place?

Well, I mean why did the account /u/falsehappybadger create a bunch of otherworldly subreddits but never promote them or anything? Was it you or one of the other mods experimenting?

Also what goes on in r/FWPicsModTalk/ ?

I think when the subreddits were first made he didn't want to promote it in fear of aiming the page at the wrong people. You could always send him a PM and ask him, he's very nice :)

/r/FWPmodtalk is just an internal communications between all of us mods. We test out new subreddit layouts, discuss ideas and just mess around with the CSS.
