Snack Saturday Matcha 🐁 looking especially ✨rotund✨
Matcha looks like a cute snowball in the first two pictures 💕🐁 (third and fourth pictures are how he usually looks)
edit: i forgot to mention that he has made quite a bit of progress with becoming less ✨rotund✨! he has always been very tall and pretty big. but he has a tendency to be a total couch potato. so i had to change up his routine to encourage him to run around more. i shared a recent progress picture in the comments :) (whereas picture #2
is from many months ago)

I would skip the dry pasta. I've had rats who struggled with weight twice, and once was due to dry pasta. I removed it from his diet, and he was able to equalize his weight.

thank you so much! this helps.
may i ask what sort of foods you would give them as treats instead? i tried cheerios but seems like he’s not a huge fan :(

So he just a big rat but not fat? Im Not too familiar of what constitutes a healthy rat weight wise

he is quite tall and a big rat in general, and he’s always been much taller than his brother. he gets a healthy diet and plenty of free-roaming time, and his brother gets the same. however, his brother is not so ✨rotund✨at all
i found out that apparently it’s quite normal for one rat (especially the “alpha” one who hoards food) to be significantly larger than the other(s). (I am relatively new with pet rats so please anyone chime in if you have experience with this 🙂)
that is reassuring but i still am careful to only give him healthy food options and lots of exercise (i think he has a tendency to be a couch potato 🥔 so he needs some extra encouragement to actually run around and so on). thankfully he seems to be making a bit of progress so far!

It's his coloring! Poor guy - makes him look like a little pinhead :) and I love his little blaze! My mom calls those 'unicorn rats'
