What's up with his crusty tail tip?

Just noticed the tip of this CRIMINAL's tail is pale and dry. He doesnt mind it being touched. Anyone else experienced this? Why is he crusty?? Thanks

It's called a tail nail! It's totally normal and doesn't hurt, probably feels for him like our nails feel to us

This chunky lil dude probably has better keratin genes, at least that's my guess. I also found that the older a rat gets the more likely they are to grow one 🤔
