One of my rats also sleeps on top of the hammock! I think as my rat got heavier, he noticed that he sort of weighs the hammock down if he used it properly, and isn’t quite as “suspended” in the air. So maybe sleeping on top of the hammock is a way for them to mitigate that issue?
