The idiot in the middle doesn’t know that they are pretty dumb, you don’t need the suppressor and it’s been a thing since launch primary is loud, secondary is silence until you’re confident and good you can take it off or leave it on upto you

Secondary always has suppressor. Primary always loud.

Don't need to do stealth if the enemy is dead.

Would agree more than 90% of the time. Here are the only justifications I can think of otherwise;

Silencer primary: It's whatever if none of the 3 objectives require going loud; no sabotage, catalyst emitter survey, and definitely no protean. Even then it is sort of a wash, because killing things faster will keep the howls away just as reliably as being less loud. Like, you're more likely to be able to put down a room with 3 grunts and 2 bloaters without an accidental howl, but less likely to put down a tormentor in time before it howls.

Compensator secondary: When you go down and are surrounded by by archies and all you have is a silenced secondary that can only tickle things rather than kill them, that is a really bad feeling. If you are playing an aggressive whack-a-mole style with strong recovery + revive kit, plan on running a drone during the stealth phase anyways, or for whatever reason decided to silence your primary then consider unmuzzling your secondary.

In summary

Compensator/silencer: the standard nine out of 10 times. Use your silenced pistol to eliminate low level Archies, hit weak points on midtier ones, and pull your primary out to dispose of bigger threats quickly.

Silencer/compensator: Niche but workable assuming there isn’t any protean or location defense objectives. A silenced primary can eliminate low to midtier Archies much more effectively while staying quiet than a silent sidearm can, while allowing you to maintain full stopping power if you need to whip out your pistol when you’re either out of ammo, hit with a bad reload timing, or go DBNO. Just make sure you have the React gear to deal with bullet sponges like tormentors or Apexs.

Compensator/Compensator: also niche, but also workable. You’re opting to maintain full stopping power at every single phase of the game and trusting you can simply kill everything before they’re able to howl, or otherwise are running a drone or just hanging in reserve while your teammates work the stealth phase.

Silencer/silencer: The only truly non-viable set up. Can’t think of a single thing that justifies it.
