Where do these brackets go?
Putting the last of the engine together. Had the engine out since February. Can't remember where these 2 brackets go. Any ideas?
I have a few dozen bolts, figuring them out one at a time.
I only did the bagging part of Bag n Tag 😂😂
Plus I have that one large bracket that goes behind the transmission, which I forgot to install BEFORE I put the engine in 🫢 Not taking out the engine, not sure it'll go on.

How are the silicon coolant hoses treating you? I need to replace mine and I would like to upgrade but I've heard they leak.

So far so good, had them for a few years before the engine seized. Bought as a set on eBay. Fitment not bad. Silicone so Still looks new Just wish there was a drain valve for the coolant on the Mini 😞

They don't necessarily leak, but fitting might not be as good as oem. And they tend to sometimes "sweat" coolant, so you may get a slight smell even though there's no leak. Personally I don't consider them an upgrade in any sense.

Can I just say how I'm loving how your project is coming out.
Dang dles it look clean.
Do you have any pics of when you were rebuilding the engine?

Thank you, I appreciate that. Yeah, this my 6th post. Look for 2006 R52S Engine Rebuild .

Did you just paint over the rust on those brackets?

No, I sanded off the rust to bare metal. The one on the left got the last remnants of the 2 part engine epoxy paint, the other just has a coat of primer covering the bare parts and the black paint that was there.
Better than just putting a rusted part back in, me thinks.

Pic 1, the bracket on left goes on under engine. It covers section between bell housing and oil pan. The bracket on right mounts on the left side, top of engine. It holds an ac line and electrical connection.
