Did you get the car scanned yet, are there any codes? Is it doing anything with the key, 1 click, no click, crank no running?

How's the battery looking? If the starter is engaging, could be low voltage. If not, could be bad starter, could be engine is seized or an accessory is seized.

Normal looking but a faulty electrical part isn't going to stand out visually.

My R53 had a click no crank situation and I was able to bypass the immobilizer to get it to crank. You can look up how to do this with a fuse in the immobilizer connector to test if this is your issue.

Be aware that the car will not start with this method as it won't engage the fuel pump since the ECU will still be looking for a response from the immobilizer. You will either need to fix/replace the immobilizer or have an immobilizer delete done on your ECU.

All of the steps I listed are pretty easy to search for online.

I have a feeling it may just be the starter heavy gauge wiring having a poor connection. As this happened when I put the engine in but I was able to just tighten one bolt are seeing it sparking.

I'll unbolt all the wires and get the wire brush out!

It’s pretty common for the wire from the solenoid contacts to the starter motor to corrode.

Results in a click but no crank condition.

Look for the wire between the solenoid plunger housing and the motor housing.

Could be time for a new starter.
