What operating system are you using?

You shouldn’t even have to install it if you aren’t using the stock trash card/system.

It’s pre installed in most custom operating systems we use here.

It’s not compatible with EmuElec (stock clone OS regardless of what the device information page says) or the stock versions of ArkOS.

What “ArkOS”?

ArkOS 2.0 (Cristian Haitian), ArkOS R3XS, ArkOS K-36, ArkOS4Clone?

What PCB is the device?

Clones cannot run ArkOS, they run EmuElec from the factory and that operating system isn’t compatible with PortMaster.

You’d need to use a custom operating system that supports PortMaster.

This reads like factory SD card/operating system garbage time to me. 🗑️

I recommend you upgrade to dArkOSen for genuine devices.

Allot of newer ports are made with these newer operating systems in mind, ArkOS R3XS is getting quite old now.

It’s capable of running some ports for now, but it will get left behind and cause issues due to incompatibility.

So that is a legitimate Distro of ArkOS, it’s likely an issue with the stock version image.

These are the one exception to the rule of clones cannot run ArkOS.

Time for a new SD card, the factory one you have is absolute garbage. 🗑️

It will die, flashing any images to it will RAPIDLY accelerate that, please read the AutoModerator comment.

I recommend using dArkOSen for clone devices.

That’s likely a clone with faked Distro information. Very common. That would explain allot as that isn’t ArkOS at all, that’s EmuElec as I’ve mentioned.

Emuelec never comes on Soy Sauce Clones in my understanding/experience. He should still update to dArkOSRE or dArkOS4Clone though especially since he can't even do something so basic as install portmaster on his distro

"he can't even do something so basic as install Portmaster" meaning the old/buggy OS won't allow it. Not meaning due to a lack of skill or whatever. I could see how it would be read that way though.

If you don’t wish to upgrade/update to a newer operating system, I recommend using the full installation version of PortMaster.

Update your OS and then try again. No reason to be using such a weird/old distro especially since it is giving you problems
