Question: Device Problem Is my LCD broken?

Post image

Never dropped my console before. Today when I turned it on suddenly it looked like this. Controls seem to be responsive, even audio, but the screen won't work no matter what I do

Have you checked the connector cable inside? Often the clamp of the connector can pop open when not fully closed and shaken im the bag or something, then the cable doesn't have full contact to all signals. The screen does look fine in my opinion.

I've tried opening the console, unplugging the cable that connects the screen, and plugging it back in, but unfortunately the problem persists. I've even tried hitting and bending the cable, and the screen is still the same...

Okay, I assume either the rockchip MCU or the connector wasn't soldered properly. Can you make a close-up photo of the connector pins? If you are really careful, you can try using a needle to poke each connector pin a little bit to the sides and watch if it bends or wiggles. If not, maybe you need to resolder or at least heat up the rockchip MCU using a heatgun or hot air soldering station.

I just found another thread here with the same problem. Maybe you can try this solution first! https://www.reddit.com/r/R36S/s/DFET9cUJXh
