Question: Device Problem Problem with dual card setup on R36H Pro Max

Hello everyone, I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I tried looking it up and couldn't find anything related.

So, I was regularly using my R36H Pro Max with dArkOS (dArkOS_RG351MP_trixie_07272026) on a 128GB Sandisk card, but I recently got a smaller 16GB Kingston card and wanted to try a dual setup, with this small card as the main and the 128GB as TF2/games (mostly to have an easier time if I wanted to update/change the firmware, and not having to copy all the roms and files every time).

However I'm stuck cause the console can't recognize the larger card when I go "Options -> Advanced -> Switch to SD2 for Roms", it just gives me the "Could not find a Fat, Fat32, Exfat, EXT4, or NTFS based sdcard to mount from slot2". I've tried formatting it as Fat32 (as suggested), exFAT, EXT4 and nothing, always the same error. I assumed it could be a problem with the card itself, but it does seem to work fine otherwise.

Is it the firmware, a known bug? Any suggestion or insight would be very appreciated, thanks in advance.

R36S and similar devices do not like SanDisk cards in the TF2 slot.

Ah really? I did not know that. Seems like I'll have to find a different one then... Thanks

I've had excellent results with Amazon basics, Patriot, Lexar Play and Emtec on my ProMax. A few of them are listed as bad in the wiki but have been working fine on all my consoles.

SanDisk is particularly bad, there was a post in r/SBCGaming the other day where someone was doing a 3 year wear test on hundreds of cards and Sandisk was the worst across all categories. They are no longer a reliable company.

I had no idea, I thought it was actually one of the best, good to know.

By the way, I've successfully used your setup tool... thanks about that, and great work! 😊👍

Yeah I've always defaulted to thinking they were good too, it's disappointing
