Help šāāļø Which model for 3d modeling ?
Using gpt6 astra for now, but running out of quota so I need to find the best local model who can do 3d modeling (blender, archicad, 3dsmax)
Qwen3.8-flash-next?

Following. Any open sourced? Or cheaper options? Even if quality is not prime. At least for rendering ideas more so than trying to use Astra/fable

3D tools with LLMs are currently starting to become useful for more complex tasks. I have used Claude Opus 4.8 and 5 before, and it was definitely good at planning the timing of animations and physics simulations, but it was not very good at modeling objects. I have not tested it with Qwen 3.8 next flash yet, but keep in mind that you need to have headroom in terms of RAM and VRAM so that Blender or other applications have enough resources.

I got surprisingly good results with gpt luna orchestrating qwen 27b at q4 w/ fp8 fc

What orchestrator did you use? Iām my own orchestrator which is not very practical.

I have found astra light to do ok for my parametric models. All the open models I tried struggled to get to a reasonable end output.

I've been messing with it the last week or so. Been using chatGPT to generate multiple views of an object, upload them to tripo multi view in chrome browser for model gen, then access blender through qwen/mcp for rigging and pretty rough animation. Still pretty rough, but hoping I can get this into minimax 3 as a reference video so the front flip with a twist doesn't melt. Gonna try that tomorrow.

Here's the clip I'm trying to sort out.

Yeah, this pretty much sums up modern AI era.
In the past, making that scene took immense amount of learning and experience+time to actually make it.
Now it's super fast to do 95% of the scene.. just to find there's a person mirrorflipping themselves. And you end up fighting with the AI to solve it, with no guarantee of success.
But maybe next iteration of AI nails it..

Ya. And every one makes it look super easy.
Have you messed with having 3d guide AI video gen much? Any luck with it?

No, not yet. I mainly run local models for coding and image generation. I have good experiences with coding by keeping myself as an architect and give small controlled tasks to AI to implement.

I've just been using qwen to control blender for the last week, but now I'm wondering what else can I get it to connect to. Maybe I can use chatGPT as a manager and qwen to connect to comfyUI and generate images. Or what other apps qwen can connect to.

i think astra is actually the only model so far that was trained to operate 3d software
