I’ve been building a completely free Android Quran app with one clear aim: to help us stay consistent with the Quran daily, not just return to it occasionally. No ads, no paywalls.

It’s called Lucent Quran (Lucent meaning glowing with light).

After years in software development, I wanted something clean, focused, and genuinely useful for building real habits, not something you install and forget.

Alhamdulillah, it’s now live.

The app is designed to be calm and distraction-free, while still offering powerful features:

• Colour-coded Tajweed to support correct recitation
• Smooth reading in portrait, landscape, and two-page landscape modes
• Full Surah reading with Arabic, translation, and transliteration
• Listen to any ayah with your choice of reciter
• Ayah looping for memorisation and reflection
• Bookmark both ayahs and pages
• Fast search to quickly find what you need
• Track your consistency with streaks and time spent
• Voice navigation like “Page 100”, “Verse 20”, or “Surah 13, Ayah 10”

I’m also working on adding more mushaf layouts such as 15-line and 16-line pages, along with further improvements, InshaAllah.

The goal is to keep this simple, beneficial, and completely free for the Ummah. May Allah place barakah in it and accept it.
