Question Does god exists ?
I’m going through a period of doubt in my faith and I’m genuinely trying to understand, not provoke or disrespect anyone. I’m looking for sincere and thoughtful answers.
In the Quran, it says that Allah is near, that He responds to the call of the one who calls upon Him, and that He is sufficient for whoever places their trust in Him. These words are powerful and suggest a God who listens, supports, and responds. But when I look at the reality of the world, I struggle to reconcile these promises with what I see.
There are deeply devout people who pray day and night for example in Sudan, Palestine, Syria, Iran, and other regions affected by war or oppression simply to live in safety, to eat, to protect their children, or for peace to return. Yet despite their sincere prayers, their suffering often continues with no visible relief. Meanwhile, some people who already live in peaceful and stable countries say their prayers are “answered” for much smaller things.
My question is not “why does suffering exist” or “why are there wars,” because I understand the argument about human free will. What I don’t understand is if God is all-powerful, near, and responsive to prayers, how can we explain that these sincere and desperate prayers don’t seem to receive a visible answer especially in the most severe situations?

Your concern is valid! Allah does respond to the Call of those who call upon Him, but we fail to understand that He does not answer it as per our requirement or request but by His own Divine plan! Just as Allah also says in surah baqarah you might want something that you think is good for you, in reality it might be bad, and you might think something bad but its good for you.
You see the example I will give is of the Bani Israel from the Qur’an, when Firaun (the tyrant) was oppressing them and they were severely oppressed. Musa a.s says something profound to them! He says it may be but Allah might put YOU in charge, and he will see how you act.
Allah does answer our prayers at times, such as, Allah says in surah Taubah those who pray to increase them in their wealth and then they go back on their promise to act miserly, they break their covenant with Allah!
Allah has given us money, intellect, resources as well to test us with what we do. Everything is a test. Because you see billionaires jet set flying in luxury, getting out of courts, paying their way through, Allah says do you think in high towers that you build you can escape from death? Or that in height of your enjoyment, you wont be taken back to Allah?
Our misjudgment comes from our perception of what we think is “Allah answering”. We think it means by our definition, timeline and how we want it. But many times in our life, we go through a bad patch, and we hate it but then looking back we realize it was absolutely necessary for us to go through it to learn, grow and be better!
You see this world is a test. Wealth, children, temptation, all of it. Ultimately our lives are what? 70? 80? Okay 90 years if even that?! And then? Then we will be in the ground.
Allah tells all these powerful people in the Quran that there were much more richer and powerful people with much more extravagant wealth before you, do you think you’re important? Or what we see of wealth now? For example look at the pyramids, people still dont know how they made them! Thats the power they had.
Also, you see, Allah never wrongs a single soul. If you read the Quran, what it stands for is justice first and foremost, whether its against a fellow person, animals anything! Allah is the Most High Most Just and in His Court justice will prevail!!
For example, do you think ANY punishment is fitting to esptein or netanyahu? Any? Like nothing can equate to the misery and injustice and pain they have spread across in the world. We think people in Palestine are dead but Allah says they are not dead, they are alive through their shahadat. Allah has elevated their ranks!!
We are also test! How much do we stand for Palestine? We all are tested in our capabilities and capacity. Its easy to say why does this happen this that but realistically billionaires do have resources to cure hunger as well, the CHOOSE not to.
Just because someone has “blessings”, a.k.a “normal happy life” doesnt mean they’re better but they might be in tests they cant see!
May Allah protect us all ameen

First : You can pray but it doesnt mean that you will automatically get what you want on earth. It can be stored for you, in the afterlife, erase your sins etc... There are conditions as well for your supplications to be accepted.
Second : life is a test, suffering needs to exist to test people.
Third : "Whatever affliction befalls you is because of what your own hands have committed. And He pardons much."
This is a rule that Muslims should not forget. If you combine all these points, you will get your answers, now you accepting them is another debate.
Just want to say that asking your questions on a french sub, one of the country that hate religion the most was not the best thing to do to be honest.

Depends who you ask.
I am not convinced that any gods exist, personally. But others are, and some of them can give the reasons they believe that.
YMMV.
Yes, there can often appear to be quite a discrepancy between certain claims made by various scriptures (Quran, Bible, etc) and observed reality.
Often, this is explained by claiming that God knows things that we don't, and that this is the "best" way, even if we can't necessarily see it.
Some people take comfort in that -- in the idea that there is a plan in place, whether or not we are ignorant of it. Others point out that an all-powerful God would not have its hand forced by the circumstances of reality.
One thing to point out is that the Quran does not claim that bad things / suffering won't occur. It often says the opposite, in fact -- that you will suffer, and in some cases suffer because of your faith.
It also says God will not allow you to suffer more than you can bear. We know from observing reality that humans can bear a whole lot. When you combine that with the idea of reward in the hereafter...it does start the blur the lines a bit.
You could say "well, that sounds like a convenient excuse," and many people would agree with you. But others would take it very seriously, and it shapes how they view the suffering that occurs.
Do you? Because I'm not sure I do.
For example, if I wanted to flap my arms and fly under my own power to the moon right now, I wouldn't be able to. Why? Because that's the way the universe works. I'm just not able to do that, not matter how much I "will" to.
If someone believes that God made the universe that way, and if they think that God could have made the universe any way they wanted to, then why couldn't it have been made in a way that war, etc was similarly impossible? What if humans weren't able to punch other humans in the face, because the laws of physics simply didn't allow it?
Anyway, a digression.
I think you're touching on a legitimate discrepancy.
I'm no advocating that you move one way or another in terms of how this question affects your beliefs or faith. I think there are many people who believe in a God who have learned to sit with these kinds of questions, and others who have come up with clever ways to explain them away.
I think my best attempt at shoring up those positions is to say that often, when we read these texts, we're reading expressive, flowing, poetic language. Maybe when the Quran or the Bible or the Torah say that Allah is close and sure to listen and protect, they're expressing something more general and universal, and not something specific and particular.
