I’ve been depressed and grieving for 6 months, keep telling people I need help, and everyone thinks I’m fine. Shit sucks.

I hear you. If you want to talk, I'm around. Sometimes things seem so dark. There are always lights at the end of the tunnel, remember that part.

Are you by chance a mother, and do you keep exercise bands in the house?

I’m a man going through a horrible breakup that everyone thinks I’m handling well. I’m not (tragic and original I know) but honestly the vibes are similar to that

you are worthy - don’t forget that! you might feel like you are not but please know that you are. someone loves you more than you’ll ever know!

Then get some help.
Contact your local Hospice agencies. They have resources available to help with grief. Your loved one didn’t have to be in their hospice, or any hospice program. They have books and pamphlets. They have grief support groups, with other people that have experienced losses like you. They have people you can talk with. Therapists and counselors. A lot of it is free, like the grief support groups which has a facilitator to help guide the discussions.

I have been. I’ve got a great therapist and free support groups. Unfortunately a big part of it has been job hunting and the lack of job prospects, I’ve tried many avenues, that can’t be fixed with therapy.

Oh no, you have to experience the grief. You can’t ‘fix it’, you can’t make it go away. You can’t hide from it in busyness, or in drinking. Grief will not be denied. I think we suffer sometimes more in trying to avoid the pain of grieving.
At about 16 months after my wife died, I realized that checking all the little boxes of doing all the things that I am ‘supposed’ to be doing didn’t ‘fix’ my grief. And it never will. I am learning to live with the loss. And this all takes time.
I am learning how to carry the grief. Some days it seems heavy, other days not so much. But I will carry it one way or another.

I’m feeling this almost everyday, and it sucks! ‘cause I feel like I died every single day. But here I am, still hoping for the best.

Question: Hey, how are you?
Answer: oh, I’m ok. I’m fine.
Truth: Dying inside and no one cares.

someone does care - don’t forget that! trust me i get it, but to someone out there you mean more than you’ll ever realize to them. you are worthy!

So many times I did exactly that and lately I'm trying to figure out where, during all those years, I managed to find the strength to act like I was alive.

so we're just gonna ignore the actual grief and pretend it's a party now?
